SOLID UNIT WITH TERRIFIC VOLUME. EASY SET UP. WORKING WELL WITH SIRIUS STARMATE 8 RADIO.
This is a quality product, with great sound. While it just arrived and I have only used it twice, it looks like it will do the job quite nicely.I have been researching for months, the various "sound boxes" designed for construction sites, etc. Most of them had more features than I needed, as I only wanted something while working on backyard projects. I already had the Sirius Radio Starmate 8 home/vehicle unit, and just needed something that would work well with it. I finally stumbled upon this unit, which is exactly what I needed. It makes sense that Sirius Radio would make something like this, and I should have known about it.Set-up was easy. The small Sirius radio unit docked perfectly in place. I was pleased to see that there is a very long cord on the antenna (25 ft.?) , which adds to the flexibility of where one can use the unit. All I did was put the Sirius radio unit in place, plug the unit in, aim the antenna to the south, and I was good to go. I used some zip ties to hold the transformer unit in place on the back of the unit, leaving only the 3 foot plug-in wire loose, which will hold down the clumsiness of the cord (I zip-tied the transformer to the bar on the back of the unit designed to wrap the extra antenna cord around, which worked well). I like the way that the small antenna unit is held in place by plastic connector pins on the top of the stereo unit. The only thing that takes getting used to is the way that the handle does not fully extend to an upright position--this is so that the antenna unit is not blocked by the handle. In summary, the unit is easy to set up and has great sound. There is more volume than one will likely ever use. As someone pointed out, a treble-base adjustment knob would be a nice addition. Also, I would pay extra to have a built-in rechargeable battery, as using D-cell batteries seems like old-fashion technology today. My only complaint is the 90-day warranty. Such a short warranty does not say much about the manufacturer's faith in the product. I solved this by purchasing a 3-year warranty from a third party.

Quality speakers!
Great speakers, and integrates nicely with the remote, powering up and down and responding to controls just like it and the docked radio are a single unit. The aux plug for external audio is a very nice bonus! I'd highly recommend this!

Lasted 6 years, buying another
The box sounds good. One of the speakers faces down so needs a hard surface under it or it will be muffled if on a cushion, like in my camper. I don't like that the plug-ins for power and antenna are recessed slightly but straight out the back so you have to be careful not to push it against anything. They should have supplied angled fittings so it could be placed against a wall without damaging the plug-ins. It lased only 6 years until it suddenly quit working, and I have always treated it gently and it really hasn't seen much use, mostly summer trips in the camper. I'm buying another one because there isn't an alternative that I know ofUpdate - turns out that I reversed polarity when splicing the connector wires to work from my camper battery (as I had done before but correctly then). So I destroyed the first one, got the 2nd one not knowing I did that, so I destroyed the 2nd one the day I received it. So I just ordered a 3rd one and will connect it properly. I give it 5 stars because it is a good device, just don't destroy it. LOL

Money Well Spent
This little unit was an afterthought, as we are replacing the OEM stereo in my SUV, with portable Sirius XM unit for our camping road trips and the campsite. We would nab this "later" to finish off the device collection. At least that was the plan, but when this hit sale price on amazon, we jumped, and it was connected before the SUV stereo install (which happens today). The Sirius XM experience for us is precluded by having it in our 2013 Hyundai (*not* known for it's stellar sound system). When we set this dock up, with built in subwoofer, all I can say is "WOAH NELLIE!" I haven't really cranked it up yet, but she will definitely let you know she is quite capable of rocking your house and your neighbors two doors down, too!She has her own antannae (unless you live in an underground cave, she will pick up a crystal clear signal in your house from right atop the handy mount on top of the unit, and if not, there is ample cord for placement near a window). She has an aux port for the ipod, if you become weary of Sirius XM selections, but how can you with so much to choose from?).She also has a retractable handle, so you can schlep her from one spot to another - rocking the Master Bedroom in the AM, to the backyard BBQ for all your friends on Saturday night. My biggest concern would be the "shady" one that could slip your portable XM unit off the dock and run away with your tunes. I suppose that will be when I test the aux in for the iPod.The sleek remote is nifty, but I am muti-tasking standing close to the unit that it can blow dry my hair, too.In a nutshell, of all the things we have acquired in four years to perfect our "glampsite", THIS is the best investment yet. It will be the first out of the vehicle to move our unpacking/set up along, and last to be broken down.Assuming we don't get kicked out of the campground for violating a noise ordinance.....

Works very well.
When I first turned it on, I got the same message as many other: Antenna is broken or disconnected. It wasn't.The plastic insert for the specific model had not firmly seated. When I pushed down very hard, I heard a satisfying "click" and problem solved. It is very heavy with 8 D cell batteries, but sounds good, not quite as portable as I had hoped.Very easy to move the small radio from its home dock to this boom box and back.
