Portable cleanup vac
Well I waited to see if it was any good. It’s been five years since and it still works great. Wife uses it daily for small cleanups around the house. I have to empty it weekly when it gets full of debris. I have the charger wall mounted in the laundry room and that’s where it stays between uses. Great purchase that still vacuums and charges after 5 years of use. Recommend buy.

Great Vacuum
Works great. I've had a few different brands of handheld vacuums and this one tops them all. Great suction, long lasting charge. After the first one I bought another to have one handy around the whole house.

Works Just Great
I bought this and have used it now for 2 months. Upon opening, I followed the instructions to the letter--thus when it arrived I charged it completely for about 24 hours. I then used it for about a total of 20-25 minutes until it wouldn't work and charged it again overnight. This is to set up the battery correctly and is a common battery operated charging regimen. Follow it and you likely eliminate future problems and the experience of saying it loses charge quick. The suction is strong. I'm not sure what people are expecting but it's a hand held vacuum. I've used them since the original dust buster, dirt devil etc. etc. This one will pick up sawdust, hair, dust, spilled flour, rice, sand. It did an ok job in the car. There is a tool for nooks and crannies. That thing extends out of the main nozzle. It helped for harder to reach spaces. There is a flip down brush type thing that worked ok on book shelves and furniture. Proper dusting is done with a rag and pledge or somesort of concoction anyway. It does not have a charging light. Just sort of figure that when you charge it, you probably have left it for a few hours before using it again. If you're using it as a light duty hand held--you picked up a spill, found something to clean for a few minutes, then likely it'll charge back to full quickly. If you used it for 10-15 minutes, figure a few hours on the charger will bring it back up to par for the next use. I don't need a charging light for that but I suppose it would have been nice. Worst case scenario is it ran out of battery--well then I just charge it without use overnight. Voila. It has a wall hanging unit. The charger is not built into the wall hanging unit. I just mounted the hanging unit close enough that with the plug in the outlet, it reaches---common sense. It comes apart easily--used the manual to understand how to empty it routinely. Used the manual how to understand how to take it a step further, pop out the filter and give the filter a good clean or even a rinse under water (let it dry fully if you do that--common sense). The waste container is clear. I can see when it's nearing full and empty it at that point as it works best (as does ANY vacuum) when it's not full.I did have the experience of hanging it up once or twice 1/2 full and a few pieces of sand or something fell straight down from the wall hanger. Now i just hold the unit over a bin for a minute tap with my hand to insure that doesn't happen but generally when I empty the unit (which is just about every time) I make sure the intake care doesn't have any strays. Some folks talk about the unit (and other units) being noisy. Some customers ask about noise. Come on. It's a hand held vacuum--it's in the category of blenders, leaf blowers and vacuums. It makes noise and again that's common sense. They don't call it the Dust Buster Whisper. That said it's not at leaf blower level or blender level or plug in vacuum level. I just wouldn't use it when your baby is napping or a loved one is on a conference call.I'd say for the money this is a solid household use dust buster and it's improved in over 25 years. I'll check back in a year if it somehow dies after a year but for now it's working fine and as designed and I picked it because of the power specs. I disregarded some reviews on a hunch that they hadn't charged it up properly . I do not expect this to go more than 15-20 minutes or so. If I have that much hand held vacuuming to do, it maybe that I need to use the regular vacuum. That all said, i can pretty much do a 30 X 30 room for spot stuff, the kitchen nooks and crannies, the bathroom, the window sills in a single charge--for spot cleaning, tidy up.

Wall mount for the win!
We've had wall-mounted Dustbusters in our hall closet for at least a couple of decades and replaced old ones with new, and we were due for a new one as the old one has pretty much worn out the motor. But for some stupid reason B&D only makes this one model with a wall-mounted charger, the rest have a charger base that has to sit on a surface with the vacuum perched on top.I can't imagine that really is useful for most people. Where do you set something like that? On a living room table? A kitchen counter? Bedroom dresser?I don't think so! Wall mount for the win! And, fwiw, this model works great, and plenty of power and duration for things a hand-vac is good at. Cheers!

Good clean up tool for 8 years
I have used this hand held vacuum to clean up crumbs, hair, cat litter, dust, and other little messes that need a quick pick up. It’s easy to empty & I’ve never had to buy a new filter. I just clean the one that came with it, let it dry & use it again. After 8 years it is just now not keeping a charge for long. I would recommend it & buy again.

junk - HHVI320JR02
First and foremost - I am guessing that some of the positive reviews are not for this model, from "robots", people who have received this item "free" or people who literally use this vacuum for less than 1 minute of work each time. It is virtually impossible to get any accurate, detailed specs on this unit anywhere including the manufacturer's website - there are no specs at all on either the capacity of the battery, the run time under full load or actual suction power of this unit. It is beyond bizarre and the only clue offered is the AW rating of 16 which is generally meaningless if not in context with battery capacity and run-time. I had to search high and low to come up with some comparisons and then shockingly a mid-range, handheld Dyson has an AW of 100 while this machine has an AW of 16. A mid-range, handheld Dyson runs on full load for 20 minutes at 100 AW, this machine runs for less than 2 minutes at 16 AW (my own approximation as best as I can make it out after a 24hr charge cycle) and that's if you're very thrifty with turning it on and off throughout your work. Another point of reference, a Hoover Air 20V goes 25 minutes at full load and 50 minutes with extended battery drawing approx. 20v. Also, there is no pre-filter in this unit, and the filter inside is a less than well made, thin and easily wearable, cloth/blended materials filter which means it will start falling apart quickly and you will quickly need extra filters especially if you're picking up pet hair that has a tendency to get tangled. This B&D is a "busted dustbuster" - a high discharge device (draws 10.8 v) with a low capacity battery (2 cell of unknown capacity) which equals very, very short usage - and - a "drip" charger that makes for an extremely long charging time. It's a piece of junk with no light indicator (or any indicator) as to whether it is charging and when it has completed. I am very frustrated for having purchased and then returned it, and I am equally disappointed that this manufacturer has gone to such low standards on what use to be a fairly reliable brand.
