Works great.
I purchased this for my Kenmore fridge when the ice maker started leaking. Watched a few YouTube videos but none were like mine. Ended up reusing the original electric plug because there was no way to unplug it from the fridge. I'm glad it also plugged into the ice maker itself. Kinda strange but I got it installed and it works great. It's an OEM part and was manufactured 2 months ago. It's legit and works great.

I was stupid for not doing this much sooner!
I hd been babying my old original icemaker in my 20-year-old Whirlpool side-by-side for the last 2-3 years. It finally got to the point that it was leaking so much water into the bin that I could no longer catch the drips in the container I had in the bin so I could still get ice cubes. I have a fair amount of dyi experience, but I was dreading replacing my old icemaker because space was tight, and I couldn't see the screws to remove it and knew I'd have to do it blind. Well, after finding a quick You-Tube video that had my exact Whirlpool refrigerator, I went for it. It was either buy bags of ice or replace the darn thing. I figured worse-case scenario would be I had to pay someone to do it. Anyway, the video was 5-Stars and it took me approximately 5 minutes. The hardest part was pushing the clip in to remove the wiring harness. The replacement icemaker came well packaged for a safe delivery. I did have to use my white front cover and ice bail.... both were easy to switch out, but I knew i would have to. It did come with a wiring harness plugged in, but I needed to use mine because of the length needed, and mine fit in the connector perfectly. The ice maker where the cubes freeze is also made of a metal alloy like my old one, not plastic like some others I found were. The only tools I needed was the 1/4" nut driver for the screws, and a thin bladed screwdriver to push down the clip on the wiring harness. It's making ice as it should and sure wish I'd done it much sooner!

Great and fit our 11 year old refrigerator. Mine came in Whirlpool marked box.
Perfect fit to replace leaky ice maker in 2014 Winnebago with whirlpool residential refrigerator. Model WRT359SFYMOO. Came in Whirlpool marked box and was sold as OEM brand replacement. I don't like how many times they are sold as mfg part and they come as generic part. (It happens) Very easy to replace. Remove bottom screw, loosen the 2 top screws and the ice maker will slide straight up and off those 2 screws. Then unplug the 1 singled wire connection. Replace in opposite order.

Quality Replacement
Fit perfectly in my 17 year old Whirlpool, removed the wire harness from the replacement and swapped with the existing wiring. My old one was corroded and leaking causing icicles. Easy to swap out and it's working well.

OEM supplier has higher standards for longer service life
I am a believer that buying OEM items for car and home is NOT always the best plan. Like buying GM-branded motor oil...uh...General Motors does NOT drill and refine their own oil. They buy it from an oil company with a GM label on it. I buy the best aftermarket oil I can find and it works as well or better than the OEM item. But for this type product, I recommend you get the item specified by the manufacturer. Most of the major brand refrigerators use this type of ice maker. Comes in different configurations but its the same basic design. While not indestructible, my original Whirlpool icemaker lasted almost 15 years (the ice container/auger/crusher/dispenser only last 12yrs because I used the crushed ice option that broke the plastic in the dispenser chute).Last yr, I bought the common aftermarket ice maker that looks the same but ....isn't. It broke after a yr and 1 day. Didn't matter since it has NO warranty but only a 90 day return/replacement offered by the Amazon seller. Useless. Get the part made for your fridge with the factory part number. You won't regret it. Started making ice in an hour with no adjustments or tweaking. I will report any issues but that is likely 10 yrs down the road....

A perfect OEM replacement for my old ice maker
The ice maker in my RV's residential refrigerator had begun to make ice cubes with little black specks embedded in them and stuck to their surface (yuck!). After going through nearly a dozen ice making cycles the volume of these mysterious specks diminished but they did not disappear completely, so it was clearly time to refurbish or replace the ice maker.Upon removing the old ice maker I discovered that the surface of the ice mold in which the cubes are formed was badly corroded in spots. In all likelihood this was caused by some volume of water remaining in the ice mold for long periods of time when the refrigerator was shut off between uses, a situation unique to RVs as home refrigerators run continuously. My lesson having been learned, in the future I will remove and drain the ice maker in between uses. After determining that a new ice mold was not available as a separate replacement part I decided to buy a complete replacement assembly (minus the shutoff arm and the front cover, which are transferred from the old unit to the new one). As it turns out I'm glad that I needed to get a replacement assembly, as the new ice maker is better than the old one in at least a couple of ways:1) The little plastic bracket on the underside of the assembly that secures the bottom of the unit to the freezer wall has been improved so that when the unit is fastened to the freezer by the two main screws at the top of the ice mold and by the screw on the bracket, it is perfectly level and does not require the addition of an aftermarket spacer between the bracket and the freezer wall to make it sit evenly as did the previous ice maker.2) The mechanism into which the shutoff arm is inserted now clicks securely in the off (up) position, so that when the arm is raised to prevent additional ice from being ejected from the ice maker while the RV is in motion, the shutoff arm no longer moves back down into the on position on its own as a result of bouncing down the road in the RV and thus ice is no longer scattered all over the freezer.
