The cats love this very nice house! You can insulate it yourself in a couple of easy steps.
I love this house that I bought for multiple cats who live in my backyard. They had taken to this house immediately after I sat it outside. I went to lowes and bought some insulation sheets for around $3.98 I believe and I cut a couple of them in half and layer it on the floor of the house and I used Scotch double sided mounting tape to tape it the sheets up against the lower part of the walls inside of the house and please remember when you cut the sheets it doesn't have to be perfect.....So there we have an insulated kitty house. Afterwards I opened up a couple of small packages of Mylar emergency blankets that you can buy on amazon and I payed on the floor which is on top of the insulation sheets that I placed on the floor of the house so it makes the house extra warm because the Mylar retains heat. After that I opened up a bag of straw/hay and spread it on top of the the Mylar and on the bottom of that is the insulation sheets which makes three layers of warmth. The next step is I had some leftover green outdoor carpeting that I have on my porch so I used what was leftover and put it on top of the other three layers. I then placed a throw blanket on top of that along with a pet warming mat and pillow....So we now have a nice warm and soft kitty house on the inside. I have some Stone pavers that you can get from Lowes for around $1.04 and placed one on each side of the bottom of the house to elevate the house and I had two plain bricks from Lowes as well that cost thirty-seven cents a piece and I stacked two on top of the other in front of the door of the house which makes a little step for the cats to get in the house. The last step in this process is I have cheap blue tarp from the dollar store that I folded in half and I placed it over the house so it draws off the roof and it covers the sides of the house and I then placed one brick on each side of the house to stake it down and you can also place a brick inside of a ziplock bag and place it underneath the layers of Mylar, straw, and carpeting to weight the house down if your concerned about heavy winds causing it to shift. I really like this house and I like looking out my back window and watching the kitties go in and out of it.....They use this doghouse more then they use the other two cat houses that they have. I want to thank the seller for sending it with next day shipping which I wasn't expecting and I truly grateful for it because it got here so quick. When putting it together you may need two people in order to hold one side or take something to hold one side while your trying to put the other side together. This is a nice house for the value and I plan on buying another one when I get the money and the kitties truly appreciate it.**Update***On August 20, 2015 I purchased another one and it was well worth it. The only problem was this time when I tried to put it together it was quite tricky to put the floor together and it wasn't as easy as it was the last time.It was so frustrating to the point that I broke out into a sweat and was so mad! I did manage to get it put together. It's best to have two people put it together and please make sure that you put it together outside or in a garage because I couldn't get mine out of the door and had to disassemble the roof to do so. I'm still glad that the house is serving its purpose.

Very happy with this purchase..
I needed a doghouse badly. After checking Walmart and ruling out an"igloo" model I went to Tractor Supply. They had a wooden one for $149.00. I was unsure it was large enough and didn't feel I wanted to spend the time putting it together. If I wanted to do that I'd just build one. This purchased hinged on cost, size and ease of assembly. I read the other reviews and decided I'd try this one. I have a German Shepard pup. The doghouse had to be durable; reviews indicated it could take a bit of a beating. I was aware it would be light and would have to be battened down. I was also aware it would need to be mounted on a pallet or something. I could not find this doghouse for less. I am a Prime member so the shipping was "free." The price was lower than any place else I looked. The doghouse went together in about ten minutes. I was alone and I have a bad back. The pieces are light and easy to handle alone. The ease of assembly allowed me to put it together without too much trouble. One purchaser indicated it was difficult to snap together as she lacked the strength. I did not have this problem. The clips lined up nicely and snapped tightly together. I was quite surprised and delighted. The only part that confounded me at first was connecting the two parts of the flooring. That is because it is the first step in assembling a product I was unfamiliar with. Once I figured it out the rest was a breeze. Before I made the purchase I measured my crate. I've used this crate for a Rottweiler and a Mastiff until they were about 6 months old. The doghouse measured slightly larger. I'm more than happy with the adequate size of this doghouse. It is roomier than I thought it would be and I am confident it will be large enough for my Shepard when he is full grown. There was no mention of vents. I was concerned about that but assumed, which can be dangerous, that the manufacturers would add vents and they have. There is one at each end. The stick-on letters are a nice touch. I can paint lettering but was more than happy to stick his name on the house in a matter of seconds. There are marks where you can push stakes through the flooring to hold it to the ground. I will be mounting mine on a pallet or something. This is not a thick, plush, insulated doghouse. It is durable, rigid, thin-walled plastic. It seems quite strong. Assembled and mounted properly, then adequately insulated with straw or something, it is a perfectly good doghouse and not at all as cheap as I was afraid it would look. It is a nice grey/beige color with an unassuming blue, corrugated roof. It has nice detail. Cute! My dogs do not stay outside all the time so this is good for my purpose.I saved a ton and got my doghouse in 2 days. I assembled it in minutes then prepared for company. Couldn't be happier!

Light and big!
This Dog house will keep you pups from most weather but not to sure about rain (you will have to seal the seems with some silicone to make it 100% watertight. The material is rather thin and may not help with insulation during cold weather. The quality is ok, but if you are looking for a quick and cheap solution then this is it.
