So obviously a better umbrella once you get your hands on it
I've been in the market for an umbrella to keep with me for my walks to the bus for quite some time. I have a T*tes which is... adequate; not very large, rusting spines, opens a little bit gimpy after maybe a dozen uses and being caught once in moderate wind. I tried the R*G brand, again small, but looked like it was made better (can't vouch for that because I returned it).No comparison whatsoever with this umbrella:* Yes, it is heavier. That is because steel is heavier than tinfoil.* Significantly larger diameter, not a compact umbrella when opened at all.* Wind resistent construction (the spines are reenforced and it is vented).* Nicer materials throughout (better fabric, coated metal parts, wooden handle).* Wrist strap.* Zippered case makes it easy to insert and remove.* Auto open/close works very well with strong spring. It is a touch longer than the "compact" models when closed, and it is heavier (sorry, didn't weigh it), and it is fatter when closed, but the experience when using it is incommensurate and the cost from the other models I tried is only $5-10 more.Highly recommended.

Received two and both were defective
I purchase the Signature Black umbrella since I though it looked stylish, and the size seemed perfect for me. Well, it was definitely stylish, and the size was great; however, the mechanics were broken. Every time I pushed the button, the umbrella would never fully extend. Instead, all the springs would push up making it look like it had just been hit by hurricane winds. I tried to use manual force to force it into place, but it didn't work. I immediately shipped it back to Amazon and asked for a replacement only to be disappointment with the second set. Not only did it have the same issues as the first, but the button was also defective. For now, I'll be sticking with my plain old black umbrella.

Indestructible
I live near Seattle and have to walk quite a lot everyday, so this umbrella sees near daily use. It works great day after day and hasn't shown any signs of wear after 7 months. It's compact enough to fit easily in my backpack so it's unobtrusive on those rare days that I don't actually use it but it still has a large canopy. It opens and shuts easily, the carry strap is still connected to the handle, none of the canopy bars have disconnected from the fabric, it still folds perfectly despite having been inverted several times (not matter how careful you are, it seems impossible to not flip an umbrella inside out eventually), it is super easy to pack into it's case, the velcro still holds itself shut, basically this umbrella has none of the flaws that every single previous umbrella I've owned has had. Although it seems impossible, if I do eventually break (or lose) this umbrella, I will be purchasing it again. If you are tired of searching for the perfect umbrella then look no further, I can't recommend this one enough.

OK, pricey and heavy
This umbrella is just okay. It works ok, but one of the spines broke for apparently no reason and it's pretty heavy and bulky.

Good umbrella
Good umbrella, a little on the heavy side, but it's compact. The weight is probably due to the good arm and stem material and the auto open/auto close mechanism. Would recommend. It's oversized and covers two people without a problem. If you wear a backpack, it's also covered.

This umbrella tried to kill me and my progeny.
I purchased this umbrella for my wife as a Christmas stocking-stuffer. The price was okay and the picture looked nice. I also saw some favorable reviews. While I cannot say we've had a chance to use this umbrella yet, I can tell you two things I immediately experienced:1. The umbrella may have broken on the first opening (I'm no expert but it doesn't seem to have symmetry anymore).2. When I tried to push the handle back up and close the umbrella, I somehow didn't get it to latch and the handle flew back and hit me square in my testicles. After a solid five minutes of pure hell, with an original score composed of my wife's interlacing demonic laughter and sympathetic shivering, I decided to dislike this umbrella because it obviously has no interest in a long-term relationship with me.

Solid and classy umbrella
The umbrella has worked great through several rain storms so far. It folds down compactly but when it opens it is large for one person and adequate for two people. I use this for commuting to work (I take a train and bus) and the size is perfect. I previously had a smaller umbrella which was more compact but it barely covered me and often I was left wet from the waist down. This umbrella covers well and still can fit in a bag/briefcase. Also the pouch keeps it from getting the contents wet. The material dries easily so you're not left with a wet umbrella all day. Overall, a great umbrella and the look is an added bonus.

highly recommended
After buying six umbrellas from amazon, I am convinced London Fog, overall, makes the best umbrellas sold on amazon. I have bought sturdier ones, but they are large and heavy to carry. For being so short, this umbrella has a very large arc, is sturdy in the wind, keeps you dry and is light weight. They also look pretty classy. This fits in my laptop bag at around 13 inches, but opens to an arc six times the fabric's folded length. It has a baffled top for wind resistance. The only minor issue is there is a lot of resistance when I compact the telescoping handle after collapsing the top. It takes a pretty good push to get it to lock in place, although hopefully this mean the mechanism is very sturdy.. I also bought the non-collapsable hook handled umbrella, which is very nice looking and light weight and I like to use because it looks very classic, but you have to carry it around with you in your hand.

Inferior
I have used this umbrella for no more than five or six times and the thing has fallen apart… Don’t recommend anyone buy it as it’s totally an inferior product and does not last at all

it is a good umbrella.
After using this umbrella a few times, the mechanism to Auto close no longer works and I have to manually push in to close. Otherwise, it is a good umbrella.
