Works great! Great range!
Works great! Great range! I have two motion sensors attached to one receiver and I have not had one false alarm. The alarm went off last night and when I did not see a vehicle, I wanted to see what might have set off the sensor and saw a family of deer in my front yard that had set it off. I have one of the sensors that I am using as a mailbox alert that it is approximately 50 Yards from the base unit and works every time. I have tried several other devises to attempt to monitor my mailbox and driveway that have not worked. I would highly recommend this product.

Excellent Product
This is an addition to the unit I currently have.Works great!Sends signal to receiver everytime, through trees, dense shrubs and growth and 12" thick walls and multiple layers of glass.Probably will be getting another on soon.I use them outside and camouflage and protect them using a Folgers coffee plastic container with top.Cut hole for unit to "see" and the spray container with camo color paints.Pop top, stick unit inside and rest it on a small piece of wood, replace top and put it where I want it.

This is a great product when it works
This is a great product when it works. It alerted us to someone about to break into the garage, but 1 of mine went out after 5 months use. The security outfit said it was under warranty, but on backorder, so I have to wait...So I ordered one off amazon and spent all weekend trying to figure out why it works inside the house and thru walls, but won't work outside the house except for first 10 minutes set outside, even when I move the base unit right in the window with it open and the transmitter within a few feet. then quits..I tried everything I could think of. All I can figure is this one doesn't like the cold I guess, so I'm sending it back.Update - I called Dakota customer service and they are having issues with some receivers that will not receive outdoors due to a malfunction of temperature sensitivity. They said they're on back order of 1 week with new ones to replace this issue. I'm happy they were honesty and great customer service - so I gave them 1 more star!

Bought over a dozen!
After buying ONE a year ago that came packaged with the receiver module, I've gradually added a 1/2 dozen more transmitters for my own residential property. Plus I just purchased a similar number as a gift for my adult son and his wife to help secure their property. Quite obviously, I think this is an excellent product! Because of the narrow cone of detection, they are not triggered by small animals that scurry past at ground level. The occasional bird that flies through the detection cone during a landing or take-off to/from the ground is about the only "false" alert situation that I have encountered. Since I have multiple transmitters strategically placed on my property, I just listen for a second alert within a few seconds to know if the first one was "real" or "false".As I said in another review, I sleep soundly at night knowing these devices are reliable and vigilant. I'm alerted the minute invited guests or solicitors walk or drive onto my driveway. If an intruder attempts to come onto my property by hopping over the fence in the back yard or by sneaking across the front lawn to check the front door or windows in the middle of the night, I'll be alerted immediately and will know (by the specific alert tone that is activated) precisely where on my property the intruder is lurking. The only negative I've encountered is the flimsy design of the adjustable swivel mounting plate (they are worthless in my opinion because you cannot lock them in place once you achieve the desired position)...use only the non-adjustable mounting plates and make your own angled wedge out of wood if you need something other than a perpendicular alignment to mount the transmitter.I'm very happy with my Dakota Alert system, and highly recommend it/them for anyone wanting a little more peace of mind guarding against unwanted trespassers.

Very pleased after 2 YEARS
5/2/20, Update:I HAVE NOT CHANGED THE BATTERIES IN TWO YEARS. They are rechargeable 9V (600 mAh) made by EBL. The transmitters catch 100% of walkers and vehicles (the only exception is some speeders). I ended up moving one of the transmitters much lower to the ground (the one that was 10 feet up in a tree). It was missing a lot of people/cars and I'm assuming because that is now how it is supposed to be set up. We now use the remote receiver (PR-2500) instead of the wall-mount. Good product.5/14/18:I purchased (1) DCR-2500 and (2) DCMT-2500 and am very pleased. We purchased these sensors to let us know when cars/people/dogs are walking past our house on our (not-busy) road so that we can train our unleashed dog to not run out at passerbys. Each sensor is 700 feet from the receiver. One sensor is placed 10 feet up in a tree and the other about 1 foot off the ground in a stone wall. Note: these are not mounted per the recommendations of the directions. I camoflauged the sensors to minimize the liklihood of vandalization. It definitely takes trial-and-error to get the right settings and orientation, but they are sensing well. We've had the sensors for a week and they've notified us of every person walking by (about 20). I'd say the hit rate for cars is 75%. Perhaps because they are not mounted in the recommended manner and cars move faster than walkers. Just a guess.

Dakota Alert works in accordance with the specs.
I've had the Dakota Alert 2500 working here for several months and because it worked per the specs, I bought the DCMT 2500 so that I would have an additional sensor. My problem was the deer going up and down my 1/2 mile driveway and setting off the alarm. So I "and"ed two sensors and deployed an X-10 alert so that it requires both sensor to alarm within the proscribed time for the house to get an x-10 alert.
