I don't know how to keep the bottoms of these bowls from getting moldy. I have hand washed and dried them as well as put them through the dishwasher. I get an extreme mold look and smell on the bottom of these bowls. I am sitting them in bleach right now. If I can't get rid of the mold I am throwing them away. I have only used them a handful of times since I bought them last year. They are attractive but the mold smell makes the food in them impossible to eat.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I could see how some people would want a cover but that wasn't something I needed. I was looking for a large soup bowl with a handle and this exceeded my exceptions. Plus because it's over sized 24oz the risk of it making a mess in the oven is low even for those large cans of soup.One review mentioned that it get hot in the microwave, not my experience, the handle gets warm when microwaving soup but certainly not too hot to handle bare handed, not even close.
