This is our second purchase. Our first was a king size bed, but after a move we needed a smaller one.It is a high quality imitation leather, with nicely cushioned sides that are good for my shins (my legs are experts at finding sharp edges so I need soft bed frames). Construction quality is very good if you assemble it properly. The storage space is fantastic, and lifting the bed is definitely something my wife can handle. Note it isn’t easy to lift - so if you have back problems or are otherwise challenged to handle lifting moderate weights this may not be a good option for you - unless maybe you have a very light mattress for this bed.There is definitely assembly required but it is not too difficult. I highly recommend a power tool and a good set of Allen wrench bits as it will make your life a lot easier. Make sure either you are fairly strong or have assistance I’m an average male in my mid forties, not a weightlifter by any means, and am able to assemble the queen and king size beds without difficulty. The boxes are heavy though, so you may want to open them and remove one piece at a time from them to make your life easier.The instructions are not ikea quality (Ikea has great instructions). Pay extra attention to the direction of the metal brackets as they need to point up to accommodate dropping the metal knobs in them. I’m pretty good at these things and did have to remove one piece I had put in the wrong place.

We bought this frame to hold an organic, hypo-allergenic mattress that is similar to a futon. My husband has no problem lifting the bed to reach the storage underneath but it's a little too heavy for me. It can be adjusted to make it easier but haven't tried to do that yet. It sits pretty low to the floor so the storage area is shallow but other than that, we really like it and have no complaints.One of the questions someone asked referred to the visibility of items stored underneath the mattress so I'm including some photos to show what it looks like. I think it would be easy to cover items with a black cloth and hide them effectively from the eyes of anyone making the bed.Suggestions for those considering this bed:1. You can look up instructions for assembly online if the ones that come with the bed are unsatisfactory.2. Any lift bed with hydraulics will be somewhat time consuming to assemble and it's not this particular frame that is difficult.3. Gaining the storage underneath without having to worry about dust and visible clutter under the bed is nice.4. Take the time to adjust the balance for your mattress. If I remember correctly, you're supposed to set the hydraulics with the bed in the lifted position and the mattress on top. Like I was saying, I need readjust mine, since we added an extra topper which adds weight.

Love this bed!! Love the storage! Love the quality and the hydraulic lift. BUT it was good that I paid for someone to assemble it because it had missing parts and the instructions are difficult to follow. Also they have a TERRIBLE delivery service! They only work on week days at specific hours and they can only leave it in the street they are not authorized to leave it in your house!! It didn't come ith the straps to lift it so I had to buy them. I would give one star to the service and 5 to the bed.Me encanta la cama y la cantidad de espacio de almacenamiento que tiene! Overall I am happy with this bed, however there are some pros and cons.PROS:The bed looks great. Very classy and subtle.The bed feels very solid, no squeaks or rattles.The storage under the mattress is very cool!CONS:Assembly was extremely time intensive and involves a lot of bending down and working on the floor. If I'd known how involved the assembly would be I would have paid for the assembly as part of the delivery. I am a VERY handy person, and it wasn't difficult, merely VERY time consuming. I feel like the manufacturer could have easily done a great deal of the assembly work at the factory without impacting the ship-ability of the bed.The lifter shocks don't hold up my mattress, even though it's well under the max weight and height. They help, but I still have to hold it up myself, which means moving anything in or out from the storage area is a two person job.

The bed itself is great, but we've had a few issues with our order.1. The headboard was punctured in the back when delivered. Fortunately since it's in the back, we were able to patch it and it isn't noticeable since it's against the wall.2. There were several missing screws, nuts, and actual bed frame slats in our order.The company sent replacements for the missing parts only for the new slats to be too long, so they don't fit the frame. The bed springs also sits much lower in the overall frame than expected, so not as much storage as you might originally think from the pictures. Still gets the job done though and looks much nicer than a traditional box spring.

We have a king sized Tempurpedic mattress and it is heavy, so our storage bed is very heavy to lift up. Once up, it does seem to stay up by itself without having to hold it up though. The other issues is that the bed is very low, I like to fold laundry on the bed and this height makes it difficult. Also, the box around the perimeter is pretty large so I hit it with my foot all the time. The metal frame under the mattress has some metal support feet that support the mattress on the ground, to you have to try to arrange things so that they won't get smashed by the feet. Also, the space by the headboard is pretty much unusable. In all, you don't get too much storage space with this thing. It looks nice I guess.
