Not great pictures
The photos weren't very good. Very smudged at edges of objects. I had to return it, was basically unusable for my work.

Battery only lasts 2 days.
I read that this "renewed" camera was tested before being sold to me. I guess their test was short and did not test the battery. The battery goes dead in 2 or 3 days. It doesn't matter if I have used it or not. It doesn't matter if the battery came with the camera or one that I had from a previous FinePix XP camera. It doesn't matter if I charge the battery in the camera or used an external charger from a prior FinePix XP. Same same.Don't even consider buying this camera!!!Update Dec 16, 2021: At least it was easy to return.

Poor design. Would not recommend.
Twice I charged this camera then went to use it and it wouldnt turn on. That's a big bummer when you have a water trip and can't use the camera you brought. It turns out that the battery can be inserted either way and so when I'd charged it...it hadn't charged. While this is a user error and I felt like a dummy for not paying better attention, I have many other cameras and none of them are designed in a way that the custom battery (not typical aa or aaa) can be inserted incorrectly. There is a label on the battery that says "insert this direction" which is obvious anyway as that's where the metal connectors are but nowhere is it labeled on the battery that only one side can go up when inserted that direction. The battery should have better directions printed on it or there should be a sticker in the battery compartment for the first time it's used to warn users. The bigger issue is that the first time I was able to use it...it leaked. The viewfinder filled with water and pictures couldn't be taken. It seems like it had sealed and locked fine so I dont know why it happened. Trip #3 ruined by (in my opinion) a poor design. Drying it out now to see if it will turn on again.A waste of nearly $300. It's not reliable. I would not buy this again or recommend it.
