Great Clippers for Small Pets, My Favorite
Of all the dog trimmers I have bought, this one is my favorite. I think noise is critical to calming the pet and these things are pretty quiet. I have a small 9 pound dog and these clippers are small and handy. The charger is nice and functional. Battery life is really good. Cuts good. Has plenty of attachments. Price is reasonable. Because they are relatively small they may not work well on big dogs say 40 pounds and up. For little guys and gals, perfect. Highly recommend these clippers.

Shaved my giant goldendoodle bald!
My girl got into some nasty burrs and matted her entire self - like Fort Knox. Her long blond hair turned from gorgeous curls to a solid mass with tons of sticky burs all in her. Then she got wet - and she locked up.Cutting her hair costs me 175 minimum because she is a big girl. She takes the groomer 3-4 hours, and she costs me a lot. The scheduling, the time, the money - it's all a lot. I was very nervous to try to cut her hair, especially because I would have to shave her down to the skin (the professional groomers also said so).So I am like, this dog acts like I am ending her life when I try to clip her nails, so grooming her myself is going to be a huge mistake. But I decided to try anyway. I got this trimmer after reading a ton of reviews. Many of the reviews said it doesn't work well on thick doggy hair or doodle hair, but many of the other reviews said it works great. But all the other clippers say the same thing. I decided to try this one due to the low price point - as a starter shaver.Well, I did an ok job. 3 little nicks cause in some spots I tried against the grain - and she is bald. Not only that but the sound didn't scare her, she didn't act like I was ending her life and she was so easy to redirect her little bits of anxiety with just a small treat here and there. I had to recharge a few times - the clippers were still working but they seemed to slow a few times. Charging them up gave her a break. So over the span of 3 hours she is balder than the day she was born. All the burs are gone - she has a fresh blank canvas to grow back in.PROS: Low noise, cuts her hair (thick wavy golden doodle, x-large breed), easy to use, nice attachments, ok battery life (probably way better with a smaller and less thick haired dog), sliced right through mats easily. Easy to clean.CONS: Wish it came with something better for the paws. The width of this blade is just a little much and I'm definitely afraid I will cut her and she will never trust the clipper again in my hands.NOTES: You need to oil this! every 1/2 hour you spend on really intensive clipping, stop, clean the hair off and put 2-3 drops of oil. Clipper/razor oil is really cheap - don't be afraid to use it! Charge it more often than it says. It works great - but the clippers start to sound sad, plug it in for a bit.

Works well and not loud
I typically take my dog to be groomed but he's getting up there in the years and gets more and more nervous for things like that. I got this set to try out cutting his hair myself, I figured it was worth a try to alleviate a little bit of his anxiety. I am actually disabled and have several issues with my back and hip so I'm probably not the most mobile of people but I had to do this on my own, and this set made that much easier than I anticipated. My dog is a 30 lb mixed breed (shih tzu and lab lol) who's very strong for his medium frame. I started out by turning it on next to him just to get him used to the noise and nothing really seemed to affect him. He continued to sleep. I actually got most of the way through the side that was exposed while he was sleeping before he woke up, and when he did he just looked at me sniffed the clippers and laid back down again. The biggest problem doing this was having to flip him over while he just wanted to sleep. I was so happy that the noise didn't scare him.I also really appreciate that the set comes with a comb and a pair of scissors because that helped me get the hair on his feet, ears and genitals a little better. Everything is very well made, the scissors and the trimmer are nice and sharp but still safe. I read the instructions so the trimmer was very easy to use and adjust as needed. The size of the trimmer is perfect, it's not the size of a full human one but it's not small either, it allowed me to get his entire body easily without it taking forever. I used the trimmer consistently on and off for at least an hour or more and nothing overheated which was another one of my worries with a product like this. Overall it took less time than I expected, and I was able to cut his hair in less than 2 hours.I was actually worried that he might look weird, my dad has cut their dog's hair before and it came out looking like he cut their hair. I was hoping to do a better job and this set made it very easy to do that. I don't have any skill in cutting hair, I do cut my partner's hair but not on a regular basis just to get length off when he needs to go shorter. (I mostly help him get his cowlick.)Diesel actually came out looking like we had taken him to the groomer. Not perfect obviously but it looks nice, I found it very easy to get a very even trim all the way around and I even did a couple of areas of shorter hair and it was easy to fade one into the other. Diesel was very happy to have the hair off for the summer. I'm getting ready to trim him up again in a week or so and I thought about making this review. If something happened to this trimmer I would most definitely repurchase it for the volume level alone. The picture is from before his haircut, I don't have one from after and he's funnily enough sleeping right now lol

Required a second purchase after only a year or so, but it works well and is affordable
This is my second time purchasing this grooming kit. My first kit died after a year and half, maybe two years max of use. The razor would run, but ceased to trim my dog's fur. I subsequently tossed it pretty quickly out of fear that it would hurt her. I was bummed to only get a couple summers of use out of it, but still purchased a second time because of A) the price is hard to beat, and B) it is actually a pretty good kit. I appreciate that it comes with several sizes of guards, a comb, scissors, and razor maintenance tools. My dog has epilepsy, and she found the groomer to be too traumatic an experience, but she is a Great Pyrenees mix who simply requires short fur in the summers to provide comfort. This razor is very quiet, and she is very tolerant of it, even though she is quite an anxious girl when it comes to noise. I would definitely recommend it to any dog owners with nervous dogs.In sum, perhaps my first razor's battery life was an outlier, I can't say, but regardless it is very affordable and works well overall, and does not scare my girl.
