Another Heartfelt Addition to the Series!
UNTIL WE TOUCH (Fool’s Gold Book #15) by Susan Mallery is another enjoyable addition to this small-town contemporary romance series set in Fool’s Gold. While there are continuing characters throughout the books, each individual book can easily be read as a standalone because the focus is one couple in each complete HEA romance plot.Jack McGarry and his partners have moved their sports PR company out of LA and into Fool’s Gold. Jack has a history of keeping his feelings locked away after a family tragedy in his past, but allows his assistant, Larissa Owens, to use his money and sports status to help other people and worthy causes in his name. While this worked well in LA, the small-town of Fool’s Gold is another matter. When Larissa’s mother visits, she corners Jack in his office and tells him to fire her daughter so that she will move back home to LA and stop loving him. WHAT? Suddenly the two go from close friends to uncomfortable. When Larissa comes up with a plan to get over her attraction, will Jack play along? This is another rollercoaster ride of emotions which happens every time I read one of the Fool’s Gold books. I laugh out loud at dialogue that is at times witty and/or hysterical and I shed tears when the H/h are hurting. This story has sweet romance elements to start, but as it continues it becomes very emotional and hard on the heart. The sex scenes are explicit, but not gratuitous and I feel realistic to the relationship. The secondary characters are well developed and believable. I especially loved the inclusion of Percy and the chiweenies. An entertaining and heartfelt contemporary romance and wonderful addition to the Fool’s Gold series.

Until We Touch
This story was pretty predictable. The H had trauma from his child hood and it's effectively tarnished his entire life. She was a sweet girl who didn't think any man would ever want her in a forever relationship. They complimented each other. But did realize that it was heading for forever. There was moments of longing and great bouts of growing. In the end Fool's Gold has the next love story.

ok story
If you like chik lit, then look no further…this book even includes puppies! Typical storyline of H & h being friends, then an arrangement to get each other out of their systems. The he screws up big time and has to grovel to get an HEA.

What a mother can do
Until We Touch is a Fool’s Gold romance by Susan Mallery. Like the others, it is an easy book to read and keeps one’s interest. You know what is supposed to happen but aren’t sure it will.Jack McGarry is an ex- football player who now is one of the partners in Score, a PR firm that has settled in Fool’s Gold. Jack keeps his distance from people and does not allow himself to get emotionally involved. He learned that people who love you or whom you love end up leaving. He understood why his twin brother, Lucas left. He died but Jack always wonders why Lucas and not him. After his brother’s death, his parents left to be missionaries in Africa leaving him on his own to grieve. They soon died leaving him completely alone. Since then, Jack has affairs but never lets anyone get close. He has Larissa to stand between his helping people and having to interact with them.Larissa Owens is Jack’s assistant and masseuse. She works for Score and gives massages to the other partners. She is always getting involved in causes which in turn involves Jack or at least his house. Her latest one is taking care of an owl while she heals. The owl stayed at Jack’s house and kept him up all night with her screams. She picked up a young teen in the park one evening when Jack was taking her home. Percy was on is own and had no place to go. She convinced Jack to take Percy into his home and jack began to take an interest in him. Larissa is angry with her mother for coming to Fool’s Gold to try to get Jack to fire her so she will come back home and get married and have children. Her mother is convinced Larissa loves Jack. This is something Larissa denies for a while. Then she has to admit she does love Jack. Now she sets out to seduce him to get him out of her system so she can get on with her life. Will her plot work? Will Jack change his feelings towards Larissa? Will she simply lose her job over this? What part will Percy play in this unusual relationship?

I've read all Fool's Gold books in a row. A mistake, I'm afraid...Because Susan Mallery's style is very enjoyable, witty and well paced; so when read with ample time in between, I'm sure it would be easy to overlook one crucial detail: in almost all these books she tells the same story over and over again. So here I'll give a short summary - not of Jack and Larissa's Story, but of most of Fool's Gold's storylines in general..Here we go: Boy meets Girl - both with more or less baggage (family tragedy, troubled childhood, early pregnancy, divorce, severe loss - you pick it), sexually confident and wildly attrackted to each other from the start. She dreams of marriage and motherhood, He believes himself unable to commit or even to love. Nevertheless they both decide it's a good idea to have a fling with no strings attached. Surprisingly (!), they fall in love, but while She embraces her feelings, He runs scared. Then, after some time of introspection, He reconsiders. And She takes him back without hesitation, no matter how horribly He bungled the beak-up and hurt Her in the Process. Happy End - yey.Mallerys whole idea about a small town with too few men is funny, her characters interesting and endearing. But they are all the same! No woman who's main goal in life isn't marriage before the age of 30 and a bunch of children; no man ready to love; no relationship where She might have more reservations and He might be in more danger to get hurt. To top it off, all the guys and girls have the same sexual preferences; so no originality there either - and we're talking about 15 couples so far.Summary: I don't regret buying Mallerys books and I'm sure to turn to them again. I'd only wish for more variety (and for the female characters to arrive in the 21st century, where it's absolutely ok to be single and not pining for numerous offspring).
