Advecta II Flea Treatment - Flea and Lice Prevention for Dogs, 4 Month Supply

For the money, they is the best flea and tick protection on the market. I've used most of the brands out there, and many of them have a tendency to work for a few months before my two dachshunds become immune to the effects. My long haired dachshund is very sensitive to bugs of all kinds and has a bad habit of chewing on this rear back area when he's itchy. I ordered Advecta II and applied it to both dogs last night, and my sensitive skinned long haired is already less itchy and didn't appear to have tried to chew himself to pieces last night. I did bathe both dogs 48 hours before application to make sure they were as protected as possible. I will never go back to any of the higher priced brands when this works even better!

This stuff is a godsend in summer.I hate paying the insane prices for other name brand flea treatments because I feel like they never truly work as well as they claim, and we bathe our dog more frequently in the hotter weather so it seems to need to be reapplied more often to keep the fleas at bay. I gave this a shot in hopes that it worked even a bit based on te good reviews and honestly wasn't too optimistic. But it works amazingly well!I will never buy other products as long as this is available! The summer fleas were off the dog seemingly immediately and did not return. This is a fantastic product and we didn't experience any side effects either. I am so happy that I have this a try. It's much easier on the wallet and we're all happier in the summers now!

Putting up with fleas and whatnot most of my life (71 yrs old btw) in the South!!!, and this treatment surprised me being the 'not so expensive' brand as others are..think half price really. Have been using it for a yr or so an have yet to see anything and better yet when she crawls up next to me haven't felt one itch in all that time. I've tried everything under the sun, all the shampoos and pills and what not and I can truly say this will put an end to that problem..got some for the cat too and both work as advertised...highly recommend.

Got this for my 13lb dog both this summer and last. Last year, it was so ineffective the vet had me switch to an oral product, which worked wonders. This year, I forgot about the switch and reordered this product again. I'm getting the same lousy results. It worked ok the first time I applied this spring, but it's no longer effective. My poor dog is being woken up from a sound sleep with bites, just four days after application. I'm going to apply again in two weeks, but I'm not expecting it to be any more effective. I don't recommend.

I feel like I have to keep reapplying every 2 to 3 weeks. We give our dogs a flea bath and bathe all their bedding at the same time, then after they dry, apply the treatment. Switched to this from Advantage II to save some $$ but I'm not impressed. Fleas are a finicky bug and they seem to get resistant to the treatments. But we have not been using this even a full year and it's not working. May work for you, but not working for us.

I decided to try this for financial reasons. It knocked the fleas back, BUT I had to apply it every 2 weeks. And it never really killed them completely. Sometimes I think all these flea products aren't quality controlled. You might get a good batch sometimes then the next time not so good. I bought 2 boxes 1 for each of my dogs and neither of them worked. I'll go with something else next time.

Seems to have worked! Fleas are gone. I did buy this product to kill a batch of winter fleas, a package for the dog and a package for the kitty. Not sure how it holds up with relentless summer fleas, but it did the trick in this instance. Since my pets are seniors, I give them the dose for the next weight down (this being the weight they are near to anyway...) and it works just as well without putting a lot of toxins in their little bodies. Great bargain.

So my poor boy had fleas, and we dosed him up with the advecta following the instructions to the letter. Did absolutely nothing. Waited a four days with no improvement. Finally said forget it and scrubbed him with Dawn and flea shampoo (thanks petco). Re applied advecta after and it seems to keep away mosquitos but thats it. Might be that I got a baf batch but buyer beware.
