Wonderful, Funny, imaginative, heartbreaking
I loved this series!I never much cared for sitcoms, but this one won me over from the start and kept me hooked throughout its successful run.The actors deliver their roles exceptionally well and keep you laughing, not to mention somewhat exposed to medical realities and the heartbreaking wisdom that comes from seeing people dealing with difficult issues. I work in a healthcare setting, so I know that they always did a good job of keeping it real.Although there was a 9th season, this one (season 8) is the true last season as it is where JD says goodbye. The full cast, including the production crew, are not all involved with season 9. And without JD, the "bro-mance" between he and Turk that we came to love and laugh at makes for a HUGE hole in season 9 episodes. But this review is about Season 8 ...The finale is extended over two episodes, and for me has the most emotionally charged climactic final scene of any sitcom I've seen - and that includes the very famous MASH finale. The director (who does occasional cameos and shows up in the last scene) put together a marvelous goodbye that sticks with you for a while.Makes me wish it would never end...

Great Show
Before they changed a lot and added more characters for the 9th season I felt like the 8th season was the actual series finale. Just a great show overall. I loved all the characters and the set up for the show was great with little side clips and flashbacks. Zach Braff definitely made the show and everyone fed off each other on the show. The comedy was a little quirky, but if you like that kind of stuff you won't be disappointed. Obviously if you bought this you like the show so you will know what to expect with this. The series finale was great and a good way to wrap up the whole show. I felt like there were a lot of good life lessons throughout the show, good laughs, great characters, walked a good line of funny and serious, and the music was always great too. Highly recommend to any Scrubs fan.

Last few seasons: not so funny
Towards the end of the series it was not as funny as it was at the beginning but you might as well finish what you start, I bought the whole series

Funny, but not quite the same
The eighth season was good, but there is definitely a different feel to it than what there was in the preceding seasons. The final episode was a great finale. Some of the episodes in between were almost too hokey. I'm glad The Janitor and Ted found love, but that didn't really go with the rest of the show as a whole. JD and Elliot's relationship seemed just the same as some of the other sitcoms (think Ross and Rachael, particularly). All in all, Scrubs is one of my favorite shows, and this season did not disappoint - it was just... different.

Worse than 7th, better than 9th.
My fiancee and I have been major Scrubs junkies for years and we own all of the seasons. 1-5 are the best. Scrubs starts going downhill at 6, takes a sharp-turn towards Suckville at season 7, by 8 & 9 its a clash between annoying (Katie & Denise) and frustrating (Ed & Drew). Elliot's melodramatic attitude over the slightest thing gets taken up a few notches and (unfortunately) she becomes less foot-in-mouth funny and more Bipolar.Season 8: Everything important has already happened in the Scrubs universe, so you don't need to purchase this. The final 2 episodes are very memorable though, I teared up. I won't ruin it for you. If you do buy this, laughs are few and jokes are repeats from prior seasons.7th season sucks but the 8th season will make you atleast appreciate it. Avoid 9th. Unless it's like $5 (including shipping) it isn't worth it. Season 8 ended the way 7th should have, and if it wasn't for the said finale I would rate this 2 stars (9th shouldn't have happened). "Bonus features" range from mediocre (bloopers & alternate lines) to just awful (webisodes) and this season isn't graced with an attractive slip-cover.

Back on form
Season 8 marked a relative return to form for the Scrubs crowd - I don't think it ever really touched the glory of the early seasons of the show but was a distinct improvement on the last couple of years. There's various new characters thrown into the mix and ever larger roles for other members of the supporting cast. A new batch of interns pop up (and sometimes strangely disappear again) at regular intervals which keeps a certain freshness to things. The stand out for me was Eliza Coupe as Denise, a brilliantly deadpan creation. Courteney Cox makes a couple of guest appearances, Elizabeth Banks pops back in and the cast of Sesame Street also get in on the action. Look out for series creator Bill Lawrence in a short cameo as well.In other developments, J.D and Elliot get back on the dating merry-go-round which I guess was inevitable in many ways. In more surprising news, Ted gets a girlfriend (!?) and the janitor has his own romantic entanglements to take care of. All the other regulars are present and correct and this season manages to bring a bit of the heart back to go with the laughs. On that note, the ending of Season 8 is a perfect way for the Scrubs story to come to a close, a wonderful trip down memory lane (or hallway). Of course many of the cast and crew, for noble reasons, did return for a crack at a 9th season which sadly didn't really find it's audience. But that's a story for another day/review, enjoy Season 8 for what it is.

A shame it is all over, but what a finale
Almost 10 years since starting, the lovable sitcom came to end with series 9 earlier this 2010 year, but not to much note. And perhaps because it should have ended here at series 8, with a heartfelt swan song, a tear in the eye and the feeling that everything was in place for all our much loved characters. The writing strike had impended itself on series 7 which was shamefully short and not at full brilliance from Bill Lawrence. Still Braff had directed the final fantasy episode which was great and with the odd hint at the future this brought about great anticipation for this series, which has gone down a treat.Sharp and funny as always J.D., Turk, Elliot, Dr Cox et all return in a swashbuckling collection of difficult medical cases and dramatic personal implications. Bob Kelso has never been funnier than this series, Cox is the new chief and adds an extra dimension to his character and with the surrounding implications of love and lust between J.D, Elliot, Kim and a returning Shaun this series provides thrills and spills throughout. The Sesame Street jokes are great and the one liners from Janitor especially are comic majesty. What I personally liked about this season is that after a few more comic orientated seasons this brought the drama right back to the hospital. One episode near the start involving a man facing death and his fear of the next stage was very sentimental and the way this series finishes is heartbreaking and equally joyous that every fan must see. For the symbols, for the star studded corridor, for the scripting genius it is a picture perfect finale. As before, this for me is where Scrubs ended and with the on screen magic so good, I would like to leave it here. There is a good selection of extras including a look at the Bahamas, bloopers and deleted scenes.I have never seen anything like Scrubs. There are other hospital dramas and comedies but nothing has ever matched the parody pasting, the slick staging, the fantastic fantasies and the cool characters and it is a shame that it is all over, but if it was ever going to go out on a high note, it could not have hit it any better.10/10

AWESOME SEASON 8 SCRUBS LEGEND !!!
I love and love season 8 of scrubs which I initially saw on you tube . The last season at sacred heart too . I liked season 9 as it still had my favorite , Doctor cox in it !! The season starts with the awesome quirckyness of the characters and stages of life transitions !!The Barbie and JD hooking up without insecurity . The Janitor getting married to Lady and Ted finding his life long love and becoming happier in himself !! The show has the lovely Courtney cox in it as chief of surgery and has great plots and fun throughout !! The ending was a tad sad as it was a relection and also had a powerfull , positive message about moving forward in life ! Buy this gem teamsters !!

Best sitcom ending on a mediorce season
Don't get me wrong, I love scrubs, have every single season released onto DVD, every season almost matching or being better than the one it follows, however, season 8 was a slight letdown. Jokes were not as funny as they were in the past though they were good and each episode didn't leave me wanting to watch another one straight after. I think the main reason for this was the new characters they brought it, as much as they tried their best they came off annoying, I begun despising them. Still, I love scrubs and wished it would continue like the earlier season, sadly not the case but still worth adding to your collection, its good, but just not scrubs good.

Love it
Great end to the series! I was dreading an unhappy ending but it was brilliant. (I have taken the decision not to watch series 9. To me it’s not part of Scrubs, more a spin off and I’d hate if it has a crappy ending. Not worth the risk!)
