8/29/2023 update.After now having used these for several months I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. While they initially seemed a little bit brittle due to the material they are made out of, they are holding up fine and have proven to be plenty strong enough when using them mindfully. the longer I have used them, the better I have gotten with the results and there is no way I could ever cut an even and uniform taper on my own without these. These are well worth the money now.Original review.Just now finished using the 3-8 taper guards for the first time, and they did work for their intended purpose. They fit my Wahl clippers securely and the lengths on these seem to be accurate as far as I can tell so that is good. I'm not a big fan of the material these are made out of though, it is a little bit on the rough side and doesn't feel real strong. If these were made out of a smooth and stronger plastic type material like other clipper guards I think you would really have something with these. Still though I wouldn't be afraid to buy these in the 3-8 taper length, just go easy on them as they don't feel super strong. Kind of pricey too for what you get, but I do understand this is kind of a specialty guard size.

I would not recommend them if you’re planning on cutting your own hair, they might work if you are cutting one else’s. Issue that stands out when you use them is that the teeth are too spread apart. If the teeth were close together like a regular attachment they would work great. You should make one that gradually steps up, this one u side it and you can visually see every bit of that gap in your hair. Just does not work out at all. Good idea and solid product but it needs just a little tweaking and you guys will be sitting on a gold mine. Thanks

Item worked exactly as described and the "how to use" instructions were easy to follow. The only reason this product did not receive 5 stars is the cost. This product is made of plastic or a similar material and I would guest costs less than a dollar to make but is being sold for $22.00. I like the product, it works well but the price is ridiculous. I still would recommend for those who like to cut their own hair.

I got a pair of the Emerald, Amethyst and Sapphire guards and between the three am able to give myself the perfect fade - just how I like it. They fit my Wahl 5 Star Balding clippers perfectly and seem to be well made. Happy customer right here.

I’m rating 3 stars. This has major potential but the advertised length is off.I’ve been cutting my own hair for 25 years I use Wahl and Andis clippers and guards. Low fade, medium fade, high fade. I’m proficient with all of them. I ordered these in the #1-3 and was excited to find something to take the work out of guard dropping to clean lines and such. Unfortunately I found these cut more of a 2.5/3-4/5. Not close to a 1-3. My previous fade was a #2 and it had grown out for 3 weeks. These didn’t make a dent in the length my hair was at the time. So they can’t be a #1. I’ve been in touch with the seller (they’ve been great) who is verifying dimensions as they are 3D printed and it should be easy enough to fix. In the meantime they offered to send me the #1-2 to see if they work any better. I hope they do and I hope the seller is able to correct the length. If they can get this right, they will have a really awesome product. It’s also really great if you want your fade to be a 3ish or above.I’ve included picture of an Andis was taper guard. For reference the Andis ear taper cuts #2-4. You can see there’s clearly a size difference between the 2 with the Andis being shorter, which provides a closer cut.

First time using it and had very good results. Glad I bought this. Sturdy little package...durable plastic. A bit of finesse to get on the razor but that means, it is a good fit. I would ignore the negative reviews about this product. I only used it once, but it does great blending. Looks seamless and relatively quick and easy.Perhaps the old reviews had a different plastic, Not sure. But, I am glad to report...the #3 to #5 blend is quite nice. Works good around the sides and back. For about $20 I would recommend.

One of the pair of guides is oversized and is loose on the wahl clippers, rattling around and frequently falling off when putting clippers to the head. Other one works fine

I purchased the Taper King Hair Clipper Guard Opal Set (#2 to #7 / 6mm to 22mm) with the expectation it would work as advertised but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The product description claims compatibility with both Oster and Andis clippers, so when I discovered the guards didn’t fit my Whal clippers, I decided to buy a set of Andis clippers to give them a fair try. Unfortunately, they didn’t fit the Andis clippers either.The lock-in-place mechanism is poorly designed, leaving a significant gap between the guard and the blade, making them unusable. I even uploaded images to show the issue, but it’s clear these guards don’t fit as promised. This was especially frustrating since I’ve used other off-brand guards in the past that worked perfectly with my Whal clippers, so I know better quality is possible.If you’re considering this set, save yourself the hassle. They simply don’t deliver on their promise and the misleading compatibility claims make this an even more frustrating purchase. Avoid this product at all cost unless you want a useless set of guards that just don't work.
