World of Reading: Alice's Wonderland Bakery: Meet Alice

This is based on the popular Disney series, Alice's Wonderland Bakery. The illustrations are charming and the text is easy to read and enjoyable for children to listen to or to read themselves. It is a paperback, but the paper is of good quality. I expect children Kindergarten to 2nd grade can enjoy this. It is a great bargain as it contains the first five individual books released for this series.

After enjoying the previous Alice's Wonderland Bakery books with our granddaughter, this World of Reading book was a disappointment. It's on the same level as "See Spot. See Spot run." When a three year old fan of the show and other Alice books finds a new book boring you know it's bad. It would have been better if written as a Level 1 or 2 book instead of a Pre-1.

If books are going to have women represent men or vice versa that should be on the front cover so people who don’t want to confuse their children will not start reading it to them.

My daughter is a huge alice fan so this is a great book for bed time. She's not old enough to read yet but she likes to follow along as I point to the words.
