Perfect for Pattern Testing
I absolutely love using this muslin fabric for sewing, and it’s become an essential part of my process! I use it to cut out patterns and create first versions of my dresses before working with my real fabric, and it’s been a game changer for ensuring my designs come out just right. Here’s why I’m giving it a full 5 stars:Ideal for Pattern TestingMuslin is the perfect material for testing out patterns. It's inexpensive, so I don’t feel guilty about using it for trial runs. I can easily cut out patterns and sew up the first versions of my dresses without worrying about wasting my more expensive fabrics. It gives me a chance to make adjustments, check the fit, and see how everything comes together before committing to my final fabric. This has saved me so much time and frustration in my sewing projects.Lightweight and Easy to Work WithThe muslin is lightweight, but still durable enough to handle multiple fittings. It’s smooth and easy to sew, which is especially important when making adjustments to a pattern. I love how it holds up through pinning, cutting, and trying on the first version without any issues. It doesn't slip around or stretch out of shape, which makes it much easier to work with compared to other test fabrics I’ve tried in the past.Great for Fitting and AdjustmentsBecause muslin is relatively plain and neutral, I can easily see any fit issues or alterations that need to be made. It’s also easy to mark on, which is a huge plus when I need to make changes before moving on to the final fabric. Whether I’m tweaking a hem, sleeve length, or fit around the waist, muslin allows me to clearly visualize the adjustments I need to make.Affordable and VersatileOne of the best things about muslin is how affordable it is compared to other fabrics. I can buy it in bulk, knowing that I’m not spending too much money on something that’s just a test version. Despite being inexpensive, it still feels quality enough to give me an accurate sense of how the final garment will fit and look.Final ThoughtsThis muslin fabric has made my sewing projects so much easier and stress-free. It’s the perfect tool for testing patterns and ensuring everything fits just right before using my final fabric. If you’re into sewing and want to create high-quality pieces without risking your real fabric, I highly recommend investing in muslin for pattern testing. It’s affordable, easy to use, and has made a huge difference in my sewing process. Definitely 5 stars!

Liked it
I bought this fabric for a summer dress, but it's sheer even after pre-washing. It's definitely suitable for tops, though, and soft. The width is nice for bias layouts and it should drape nicely. I would buy bolts more of it, as it's good quality lightweight cotton.

Good quality and easy to work with
Great quality at excellent price. Nice fabric to sew with, lined dust ruffles to give them more body and looks much better.

Good weight for painting, stitching, and more.
I bought this for a workshop I was running and it's a great weight for crafting with - flexible without feeling flimsy. Sort of more on the light canvas realm than a thin cotton. I don't have too much too say - it was the right size, it arrived quickly, and it met our needs.

Nice texture
This fabric has a nice feel, unlike polyester or viscose. It is light but not too thin. Also, very nice. Fast delivery.

Wash it on hot!
This is very thick, nice-quality muslin. The tailor was impressed with it. It had no odor and it washed and ironed well. Unfortunately, we used it to line a couple of clothing items, and when I washed them (cold delicate) the muslin--which had been washed and dried-- continued to shrink by a couple or 3 inches, requiring the items to be re-tailored. I suggest washing it on HOT and drying it in a hot dryer before using. Also, it is thick and heavy fabric. I was very happy that it wasn't the quality of cheesecloth, but it does add weight to the clothes. Items are no longer transparent, which was the goal, and the muslin is soft and doesn't shrivel or collapse into wrinkles after washing, so that's good.Because of the shrinkage, I suggest not sewing into any seams at side or bottom. Maybe hand-tacking would be best.
