Works as it should.
I purchased this to use on our screen porch that is 28' X 8'. It is located on a second level of our home. However we have two cats who are allergic to heartworm medication who frequent this proch. I was curious if there were any mosquitos getting in this area. I really didn't expect to find any bugs and was quite surprised to find there were some after just the first night. Primarily no see ums. It has been running now for four nights and there are approximately 20 bugs dead inside. None are mosquitos which is a good thing. This trap arrived in a nice cardboard box which is suitable to keep for storing the unit during winter months. I found this product easy to assemble with parts fitting nicely together. On the comparision chart included in the box it indicates this unit comes with a "hanging chain". The one I received did not have this included. At the top of the unit is a hook but no chain. Also, the cord plugs in the top of the unit and is inconvenientwhen you want to sit this on a table and not hang it up. Due to the positioning of the cord it also unplugs very easily. It comes with a very long electrical cord and runs very quietly. The light is not super bright and doesn't intefere with our enjoyment of the porch. One thing I did find confusing is the indoor/outdoor aspect. The box reads that it is for indoor/outdoor but the comparision chart indicates it is "specifically for indoor use."In the instructions it does indicate it should not be placed near another light source such as a security light or street light. However, a street light is located 20' from out porch and apparently isn't intefering with it.All in all I think this is working as it is supposed to and appears to be quality materials. So far, I am pleased.

Works, but doesn't last. 1 month and it's dead.
So I ordered a couple of these to put around the house to get rid of the onesy twosey mosquito that will keep you up all night. First off, the light attracts them, and the fan DOES suck them down and keeps them in the basket. This is just like the trap's bigger brother we have outside. Great concept, and it works. Now the reason for the 1 star. The little fan used in this thing must have been picked out of the reject computer fan bin. The traps were delivered to me on the 25th of June. It's now the 25th of July, and the fan in each one of the traps is shot. They make a horrible screeching/grinding noise. Just like a computer cooling fan going bad. So after only a month of use, both these things are now no longer able to be used indoors like they were designed to because they're shot. Sad thing is that I've had these on a timer to where they come on in the evening before going to bed and shut off about 12 hours later in the morning. So they weren't even running 24/7.Shoddy quality control Dynatrap. Very shoddy. I may look at possibly replacing the fans with some PC cooling fans or something somewhere down the road, but it's going to be tough because these use some kind of proprietary round fan.I'd look elsewhere if you're trying to control some mosquitoes in a single room. We also have some of those small wall plugin type bug zappers that seem to work pretty well. I'm cleaning bugs off the element inside pretty much every week.Anyway, stay away from this Dynatrap. It won't last and you'll have wasted your money.

Solved my indoor RV fly problem!
O…M….G… I have been plagued with flies coming inside this season due to the early heat I supposed. I’ve never experienced such a fly problem in my life. I have tried every type of fly shatter imaginable, but they all break as I probably kill 100 flies per day which equates to 500 swats as I’m not very good at it. I also bought some of those sticky things to set on the counter and around the house to catch them and catch them they did, but didn’t put a dent into the problem. Then I received this little gem.I thought it wouldn’t work worth a flip as it is tiny and the suction didn’t seem all that much. I doubted it would catch as many flies as the stickie things, but I set it up because any fly it catches is one less I have to swat. The instructions say to NOT put it by a competing light source, but I did. I placed it right beside my little Aerogarden that sets on my counter. I placed it so the top of the fly catcher’s light would be about even with the light on the Aerogarden because I can’t live without my Aerogarden and that is where the majority of the flies congregate because of the light. It is also hanging close to the door and many flies that come in the door go straight to the fly catcher and get eaten immediately. It was stunning. The flies flying under my Aerogarden light just zipped right over to the flycatcher and got sucked in immediately. Just zip… zip… zip… and they were gone. Although I just saw it catch about 30 flies in a few minutes, I still had no expectations of it completely eliminating my fly problem. It’s been a week now and I have yet to have to swat a single fly. Flies do still fly into the RV we are living in for the summer, but after just a bit, they go to my Aerogarden and then they fairly quickly checkout the light on the bug catcher and ZIP! They’re gone. It also got rid of all the fruit flies that were coming up out of my sink drain. We’re having an insane mosquito season due to the extreme TX heat, but I haven’t had a single one come inside and bite me. I assume SOME have had to come inside when we go in and out of the door often. If so, the bug eater got them as nobody has been bitten inside the RV.We are in love with this little darling and ecstatic that we purchased it and ended our fly problem. I intended to buy more of them if it worked fairly well, but it has been unnecessary as this single one is getting them all. I highly recommend this baby if you have an RV. I assume it would work well in a home as well and intend to try it there when we return.
