Attaches to speaker wire, supplying a high-quality signal path from audio components like a speaker to an audio/video receiver, amplifier or other sound application. Works with bare wire, spades, other banana plugs & 8-18 AWG speaker wire. Connectors & crimping teeth are coated in 24K gold-plating for lasting corrosion-resistance. Corrosion-resistance provides secure fits with clarity, natural sonic accuracy & no distortion. A wider base minimizes shorting for maximum signal transfer, & a 2-piece screw-on design makes for reliable termination. Product Features: - Attaches to speaker wire, for a high-quality signal path between audio components - Corrosion-resistant 24K gold-plated connectors & crimping teeth for secure fits & clarity - Wider base for optimal signal transfer & 2 piece screw-on design for reliable termination/reuse - Color coded, distinguishing left/right to enable matching polarity - Self-crimping teeth for 1-time setup

Nice plugs!
I am pleased with these plugs. I have never used banana plugs before but needed some for a couple of 2nd hand speakers I'd bought so went the whole-hog and connected all my speakers with them to my AV receiver.I'd have preferred them to have arrived with the grub screws in place and ready to screw in, rather than already screwed right in, but it was not the end of the world! It just made a rather mundane task take longer!Anyway, fitting was pretty straightforward...unscrew the two grub screws, insert the wire with the end stripped and tighten the screws. Screw the jackets back on. Just be aware that if you have particularly thick wire you may have trouble screwing the jacket on if you can't get the grub screws flush with the casing. The plugs were a fairly tight fit when inserting into the speakers and the amp, which gave me confidence there would be no connection issues. There were no problems.Overall I would recommend these as long as your cable is not too thick. For info, I was mainly using Amazon basics 16-gauge (1.3mm) wire, although a couple of my wires were thicker (sorry I don't know what gauge they are). With the thinner cable I'd used the first screw (as you insert the wire) to hold the wire in unstripped; I couldn't do this with the thicker wire.

Fit for purpose for not much money
Exactly as I expected. I expected reasonable quality, based on what I was paying for 6 pairs of plugs, and that's exactly what I got. If I'd wanted QED quality or the equivalent, I'd've expected to pay considerably more. The cases unscrew easily, and when screwed back, as tight as your fingers will do it without forcing anything, they stay on. In contrast, I have some metal ones that look flashier and cost more several years ago from a hifi shop but the covers come loose. So that's a plus for these ones.I am using them with QED Original cable, which is multi-stranded and surprisingly thick, twisted tight for insertion into the plug. The two screws hold the cable securely in place. The casing, by being not smooth, is very easy to grip, and makes for easy insertion and extraction, and is long enough to cover any bare cable if you have stripped off too much outer sleeve The plugs are a neat fit into the sockets of my Denon amp ie they fit tighly and stay in place and give good contact. These plugs have no discernible effect on the sound, no audible difference between without the plugs and with them. Whish is exactly what I want, with the advantage that once the cable is secure within the plug it will not get mangled and chewed when I need to disconnect and reconnect.Would I buy this product again? Yes, for doing the same job, and I would be happy to use these with more expensive cable.Suitable for bi-wiring? No, because there is not enough space within the screw-on outer casing to take two cables, even if they would fit within the inner. (But suitable ones are not hard to find).

Great value, stiff red connectors.
These are really easy to attach To the speaker cable. Great the way the surround is part of the assembly rather than separate to be slipped over the cable first. Now this comment may vary by speaker type, but the red plugs were very stiff to insert in the sockets. Every one. Black were just right. However, that design may be for a better power connection on red. At first I thought I had bought the wrong type and didn’t want to force it, but I initially I had a spare speaker as I bought a better quality centre speaker. So I put a ski glove on and pushed really, really hard at risk of damaging the socket. The glove stopped the hurt, and it slipped in. Once in it could be removed and inserted more easily, sans glove. I just applied much more pressure for the remaining plugs. Sound quality is faultless, but I guess that’s the sum of the parts, and the effectiveness of my ears! Although the Denon had no issues either.

Poor quality, feel light, do not stay tightened, one screw was missing, avoid
I was quite disappointed with these banana plugs as they get good reviews. The ones I ordered felt very flimsy and light weight (much lighter than the similar looking monoprice versions also purchased from amazon). The speaker pin is only screwed into the base and keeps coming loose (although this could probably be solved with a dab of glue or solder) and it was a bit more fiddly to get the speaker wire attached, plus the plug barrel also keeps coming loose resulting in the speaker wire coming out. I would definitely say, avoid! Having said that, I am still using the plugs and the sound quality isn't noticeably reduced so not completely worthless. But I will be looking to replace them when I next order some banana plugs!

Pretty good
There was a little inconsistency in the depth of the screw slots. One of the screws was tricky to undo, another really difficult - which wouldn't have mattered too much but I was wiring three speakers so needed all 12 to work. I used 2.5 sq mm speaker wire and it fit with room to spare. The wire is held in place by two grub screws. The sleeve unscrews over the plug end rather than the wire end so no problems about forgetting to slip the sleeve onto the wire before attaching the wire to the plug. They were a really tight fit into the speaker terminals and the amp terminals - so much so that the back plate of the amp flexed a little with the force I needed to push them home. This is the first time I've used banana plugs so I don't know if this is normal. However, it did give me confidence that they would be making good electrical contact. Certainly the speakers sound perfect so these plugs do work a treat once everything is connected up.

Simple, straightforward connectors for speaker cables.
My new speakers have binding posts instead of spring clips for the cables, so it's finally time to fit banana plugs and do the job properly.I decided to buy a multi-pack so I could also upgrade the cables I use for my small home studio. These plugs are easy to fit to the cable, and work well. Strip off about 8mm of insulation, poke the bare wires into the end of the plaug and tighten the two screws. That's it.I'm happy with these for the price.
