Castle And Becket
Nathan Fillion and Stata Kanic play the play the parts of the 2 main characters with absolute brilliance, I was completely hooked on the series from day one, after watching the first 2 series was sat at home wondering when season 3 would be screened so when I went onto the Amazon site to look for the first 2 seasons on dvd I was ecstatic to find a boxed set of seasons 1-4, ( I have now watched all 4 seasons several times and it does not lose its likeability, I was left feeling that it could not end like this and that there must be at least 1 more season so I was really happy to see that number 5 was being shot this year, and even happier to find that I could purchase the dvd for this in November of 2013 I am eagerly looking forward to being able to sit down and watch this, I do hope that the writer and the company who produce Castle feel that there is more they can do after 5 it would be a shame not to carry on with more of the superb story lines that we have already seen and more of Nathan, and Stata as Castle and Beckett the character of Castle is for me joint No 1 with Gibbs from NCIS, and Beckett is No 1 in my top three with No 2 Megan Hunt (Body of Proof), and Ziva David (NCIS)lets have more of this quality of both writing and acting for the small screen.

Episode 519 (100th episode) is the best written of the entire show. Just fun.
Castle is my favourite show currently. This DVD was the last I have bought. Today I order only digital seasons. The fifth season is in my opinion the best. Episode 506 is one of the funniest epiosodes of the entire show. I just like it very much and have seen it about 30 times. Episode 507 was not good recieved by the viewer but I was very pleased with it because the episode shows the characters of the main cast in a very private spot light. Esposido is just fun to look at. Just cocky. Episode 509 is a very amusing christmas story introducing some martial arts skills of some santa's. But the best Episode is 519. It is the 100th episode of the show. Cunning writing and just fun to view and Kate Becket has finally a dress that suits her perfectly. WOW. The woman. The finale seems a little uninspired. The writers were seeking a new storyline and wanted to draw a new picture of a woman that seeks independence and equally a strong relationship. At the bottomline a good season with some heights and very few lows. Entertaining therefor FOUR stars.

The best to come from ABC
I have been an avid follower of Castle and Beckett since it first aired on ALIBI.in 2011. I have seen every episode, and bought Seasons 1 thru 4 from Amazon US. Season 5 I bought through i-tunes and have done the same with season 6 and will watch ep2 Dreamworld tomorrow morning. I will still buy this DVD to keep even though I still have it on i tunes. The chemistry between Nathan & Stana is unbelievable you have to listen very carefully to catch all the sub text. The whole cast are a joy to watch and so obviously enjoy what they do. It is a an amazing tribute to Andrew Marlowe - the Creator, and Chuck Bowman the senior director and everybody associated with it. Castle has also written 4 Books in the Nikki Heat Series with a 5th due out soon, will be o Amazon, and out for Kindle probably in February. Last if you want to see the cast letting their hair down there are 2 DVD`s available on Amazon where the cast and others answer questions from the their US fans. They are `Castle at The Paley Centre` in LA 2010 and 2012. They`re on Amazon. They will be there again this year and the tickets sold out in 5 minutes

Running out of ideas?
I've really enjoyed the previous four series of Castle but to be honest I'm pleased this one is coming to an end. The 24 episodes spread across six discs should really have been about 18 episodes. There are some really weak stories here which tarnish the brand. We actually fast forwarded one episode (bomb in apartment) to get through it, it was SO bad. Ryan and Esposito have really come to the fore in this series, the story where Ryan goes back undercover being one of the best.I'm finding Castle's mother and daughter increasingly irritating and irrelevant. Also getting increasingly uncomfortable about the lack of representation of 'people of colour' (is that the PC term?) and absence of gay people in a series set in a cosmopolitan city like New York. Despite these shortcomings I can see us buying series six. Fingers crossed.

Good Entertainment
All round good entertainment followed these from season one and will carry on up to season 8 this team work very well together, Castle and Beckett are very good together as a team even though he is not NYPD but a writer, there is a story from season one all the way up to season 7 which I have watched so far and enjoyed all of them. Ricky baby you've done it again
I love Castle, was hooked from episode one, series one and as the television station were sooooooooo slow in televising the first and second series, I bought them, then, of course, I simply had to have Series 3 and Series 4 and no way was I getting left behind so Series 5 found its way through my letter box. The acting is superb, they all obviously have a whale of a time do them. The relationships are complicated, the murders bizarre and the humour is fantastic. All in all, one of the best series to come across the pond and I really am getting impatient for Series 6. Never disappoints.

Same as my previous comments, "As long as you ...
Same as my previous comments, "As long as you are more into relationships than murders, and that silliness is a justifiable plot mechanic you'll do fine".. but am getting a little disheartened at this point because the preponderance of the murder victims are women, (not a fan of the portrayal of violence against women) .. but that may also be conflation in my mind of the genre in general...

What's not to love about it?
A keen Castle fan here, I've just started to read the books! (Yes, you they do exist. Check out Amazon for them.)As my title says, what's not to love about this great comedic/drama series. Some great casting and stories. Including the developing situation between Castle and Beckett (the lovely Stana Katic). But, don't forget the others, who I think help make show what it is. Especially Beckett's colleagues Esposito and Ryan. A brilliantly matched pair of actors that portray their parts well and have, I believe, the potential for their own series.Sit back, forget the worlds troubles, sit back and enjoy!
