A great hammer drill
Good piece of kit. Drill goes through my rough brickwork like a knife through butter.Very happy with purchase and delivery

Good choice
I was looking for my first SDS drill and chose this one. It does the job and is great quality. I’ve already completed a big project (drilling a vent) and am very happy with it so far! I recommend getting Makita drill bits if you don’t already have some, as this drill doesn’t come with any.

Great SDS drill
Really good drill - very good quality at a good price. Has a lovely weight and feel to it and a nice long power cord. Bought to replace a DeWalt that had worn out after a few years and the repair guy recommended the Makita. You need to be aware that it is an SDS drill which means it takes SDS bits (which have grooves in the sides). If you want to use this with normal bits you need a chuck adapter- there are loads on Amazon for not much money. But SDS bits are far better if you are drilling into masonry or heavy timber as they don’t slip in the chuck. I have a small rechargable drill for lightweight work and use one this for the bigger jobs.

Great tool
As an occasional DIYer, I got tired of using battery-powered drills for drilling into brick and concrete. My only regret is not purchasing this drill sooner – it makes drilling so much easier. Definitely recommending this drill, especially that Makita comes with 3 years of warranty.

Drills in walls like butter. You won't come back to cordless drills after trying this.
Excellent quality as with all Makita equipment. Best choice to drill in any type of wall. I got a cordless combo drill and I only use this one for drilling in walls; it goes through anything like butter (I went through 24cm cavity wall from outside with no effort, hammer drill performance is very good).Chisel function is pretty nice and powerful (for this size). It's a heavy tool (compared with cordless ones) but a beast and makes the job very easy.Recommended.

Excellent performance
Bought this after making do with a battery powered hammer drill whilst building my extension. The bricks are super hard and the battery drill whilst a great tool just wasn’t cutting it. This SDS drill blasts through bricks like a hot axe through butter! The cable is a pain, but to get this level of power from a battery I think you’d be spending 3 times as much!

Should have bought 1 years ago!
Purchased to do the heavier duty masonary work which I was using my battery combo drill to do.Should have bought 1 years ago!! Makes light work of everything I need to do. I would be stood there for ages with my combo drill trying to drill holes in brick - and not doing my drill any favours what do ever! This thing just flies through anything I’ve put in front of it.Usual Makita quality with a nice sturdy case too. Bought the Makita SDS drill bit pack too. Will last for years
