Boston Creme Surprise
A friend who moved to Hawaii was craving some Boston Creme Pie and I was so pleased to find these on Amazon! I immediately shipped them to her as a surprise and she loved them! Thank you!

Overwhelming sweetness, artificial vanilla, no detectable chocolate
The cookie part is good, just like other Milano varieties, perhaps a bit more dense to enclose and protect the filling. And I love Milanos, especially the mint and double-chocolate ones.BUT: In this Boston Cream Pie Milano Melt, the filling is way, way too sweet, just like the cheapest canned vanilla frosting. All you can taste is overwhelming fake-vanilla sweetness. There's a nearly invisible dark layer inside the cookie that's supposed to be chocolate, but there's no chocolate taste at all. And the center "cream" filling is mostly dried out, leaving an empty cavity of air inside the cookie.Pay NO attention to the mocked-up photo on the package showing a thick chocolate layer with creamy goodness inside. That's purely an "artist's conception" of what the cookie ought to look like.Note that this review is based on a fresh package with a sell-by date still three and a half months in the future.

where's the custard
I love Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies and was excited to see the new line of Melts especially Boston Cream Pie! yum! However, I bit into the cookie only to find that inside there is a coating of chocolate making a hollow spot where cream should be but mine had no cream. The ones on the bag look so delicious, I wish I could have that one off the bag as the ones inside my bag have a hollow spot where the cream should be.

Nothing like the package pics!
We bought these on sale at a local grocery store. The picture on the package looks pretty good, doesn't it? Well, the cookies inside are NOTHING LIKE the picture on the package! These cookies are fairly hard (they didn't taste fresh, although they had a good "sell by" date), have very little distinguishing flavor (mostly just overly sweet), and the "filling" inside isn't soft at all. The picture on the box leads you to believe that it will be a gooey, luscious filling, but that couldn't be further from the truth. We ate exactly ONE cookie from the package, and promptly packed them up and returned them. Really awful cookies, how could Pepperidge Farms put out such a poor product? They used to make great cookies, these days their products are beyond mediocre.

i'll polish off a bag in two sittings
I love these little things. Tastes awesome to me, but I also have realistic expectations of what a packaged cookie will taste like. Are these better than a real boston creme pie? Of course not. Are they better than the majority of bland mass market cookies? Yes.

This is a Milano?
Ill give it one star for the cookie part... what is with the rest of it? Artists creamy vision on the fromt of the bag. Really terrible, should call it something else - dont ruin the Milano name with this garbage. My kids love Milanos and couldnt believe when none of us wanted to actually finish one. Luckily my wife had some ingredients to whip up some real chocolate chip cookies quick for us instead. Dont buy these, go get some classic Milanos.
