The best weeding tool I have used!
This is a great tool system for gardening or use on allotment. This tool rips through weeding and really takes the strain out of the hard work. Our 2nd attachment in this range and no doubt more will follow - robust, easy to change the heads and very effective.

well made tool
Well made tool, I like the hoe part for dealing with weeds, the spikes on the front have struggled to break clods this season because of lack of rain to soften them. I still rate it as a good tool. It's my first Wolf Garten tool but it won't be the last!

Expensive, but on the right soil in ideal conditions, pretty effective
This tool is a little bulky so not so easy to store, but as stated above, in the right conditions is good for hoeing off weed growth and preparing a seed bed, or just leaving a clear surface fairly quickly. I'm still not absolutely convinced that it's worth the expense, as it was pricey. I am happy with the cost though.

A really great design and very effective tool
I brought this tool head knowing it wouldn't come with a handle , which is pretty poor when you consider the price. When it arrived, very soon after ordering, I was plesantly suprised by the size of the thing. It was bigger than I was expecting it to be. On initial inspection of the attachment to the not supplied handle I realised that I was not going to have to part with the extra money. Using a flat headed screw driver, I slid it under the plastic case and gently twisted it. This had the effect of prying off the plastic cover (it can be refitted if done carefully). The result is an exposed metal bar section with 2 pre-drilled holes (one big one at the top as in picture, one smaller one under plastic cover). I then took a length of hazel coppice or any other stout wooden pole and drilled the 2 holes in it using the metal handle stub as a guide. Bolt it on with some nuts, bolts, washers and tighten it up. Job done. I recommend a pole about 7 foot long so one can work the whole raised bed without treading on it. Also the extra length gives you different positions to avoid repetitive strain. Now for the review, the tool is absolutely brilliant. I first used it on a bit of lightly weeded soil on the allotment. It acts like a hoe and slices of the weeds then mills up the soil nicely. Then I decided to really give it some beans and started ploughing up an un-dug weed crop on the new allotment. I should note I did dig out the big weeds with a fork first but all the rest just got ploughed out picked up and then repeat. Each time , if you get the angle right and really attack the soil it drives the hoe bit under and slices about an inch or two of the hard unworked soil off the top. Then on the back and forth stroke it mashes/crumbles it getting finer and finer every pass flinging out weeds as you go. You can achieve a fine tilth over quite a large area reasonably quickly. Also using and abusing the tool it gave a bed of soil about 6-8 inches deep that was really light and just had to rake it over and off you go.The point others make about stones is a minor issue, I had loads get stuck but it gives you a chance to get your breath back and they come out easy enough. Also in wet clay soils it may be an issue with it clogging, mine clogged once or twice but it had rained a lot prior to working. All in all very happy. I hope it survives this type of use and will update if it breaks. It is well made though and although the metal is quite thin it's stainless steel. The ultimate human powered plough at the cost of one months gym membership! Get one.

Very effective tiller
These are very effective for, for instance, preparing a seed bed ready for planting. I use a no dig approach in my veg plot and these are superb for tilling just a narrow seed channel. I have used one for many years and this is my second. I think somebody saw my using it and decided they wanted one as well, so they took mine sometime last October. I have just replaced it ready for this year but will make sure I don’t leave it lying round ( cheeky ******** took the handle as well so quite a loss) . Highly recommended, ask any thief !! well worth looking after though.

Very good and tills well
We needed this to till the sides of the garden.Remember you will need a pole to go with it, we got the long pole and it works very well. The head hoes very well but don't try to dig it in and use the spoke to break it up.Overall it is a good tool and a great work out if you are using it a lot

Interesting piece of garden kit
Having seen someone on the allotment using one to great effect I thought to do so,it's an expensive bit of kit and you need the pole as well ,more expenses, but does come with a lengthy guarantee ,well made and durable.it took a few goes to get the rhythm of enough force to make the rear hoe work but once I had works a treat getting weeds out and tills the soil down fine enough to sow seeds,as my digging tends towards the ploughing this after takes out the efforts of rake and fork I'd usually do,just right width for hoeing between the road another plus, worth buying? well I'd say it's worth a second look
