I'm using this adapter cable to connect the balanced outputs from a professional studio DSP unit to a single-ended patch bay, and it works perfectly. No audible hum or noise as received, i.e. with pins 1 and 3 on the XLR shorted together. Note that this cable is not equipped with a switch for ground lift, so if you find that you are getting ground hum in the default configuration, you'll need to open the XLR's and remove the jumpers. Fortunately, that's easily done, because the connectors can be opened by simply unscrewing their barrels.All of the materials used to assemble this cable are first rate. Good quality metal connectors at both ends with proper strain relief and excellent OFC conductors inside a great PVC jacket. For less than $20, a cable of this quality is a bargain.

This is a very good stereo cable. It feels well made and works perfectly. I use it from the XLR output on my Pioneer DDJ-SX2 DJ controller to some Pioneer DM-40 DJ speaker/monitors with RCA inputs. It works just like I hoped it would and the sound quality is great. I wish it were gold plated but some people say that's a myth anyway. It sounds fine as is and I like the velcro you get with it for when you want to wrap it up. The XLR ports get a satisfying thunk when plugged into my controller and the 10ft cable is very long for when I want the monitors farther away from where I'm playing. I mainly DJ in the house for now until I get better, so this works out juts fine. I give it 5 stars across the board and recommend you buy it for sure.....

I got this because an adapter I was using was creating a hum in my setup. The product feels solid and the connectors look pro grade. The hum was gone and no other noise has been picked up by the setup.Very happy to have this and I will update the review once I have had it for a year or so.
