I was looking for a modern fireplace with a realistic flame to be used as a focal point rather than a heater.I was convinced with the reader reviews and photos/videos, but stalled because the fireplace surround was flat packed and my DIY skills are questionable at best.I eventually bit the bullet and delivery was very fast and came in two boxes; the heater unit in one and the flat packed surround in the other.For once, I actually read the instructions and took my time, only needing one Phillips screwdriver to put the surround together.I'm sure I took longer than most, but the instructions were very clear, each part identified alphabetically and had no issues with the screw hole alignment.The whole finished fireplace is solid and of very good quality. The remote control (with batteries) works perfectly and the LED light surround, which can be toggled on and off independently, is a real bonus and enhances the look and warming effect of the fire.Overall, I am very pleased with the fireplace and have no hesitation in recommending.So if you're sitting on the fence about the flat packed element, just read the instructions, take your time and give it a go! You won't be disappointed.

Looked around for a few months for a nice fireplace and fire. Most were either not right or not worth the money. Took a chance on this one based on the reviews and it has exceeded my expectations. Easy enough to put the mantel together with spare screws if needed. Fireplace also fits in easily, then plug in and go. The modern look is really stylish and the flame effect is better than we saw on most fires 2 or 3 times the price. Fan heater works really well with good temperature range, we won't really use the heater , it's more for the look and effect. Room is already feeling more cosy homely. Highly recommend.

After reading reviews and seeing photos and videos on this product I decided to purchase! So glad I did it's a lovely fire from the style to the features! We are re decorating after Xmas and this will fit the bill perfectly! I can highly recommend from assembly to quality it's well worth the money!

I have gas central heating and my room is always warm, but there was something missing. I ordered this fireplace and it just completes the room. I love the flame effect it makes the room brighter and cheerier. Fireplace came about four days earlier than I expected. It was easy to put together and I absolutely love it. The size is exactly right for my chimney breast wall. Noise level is minimal when the fan is on. I would recommend this fireplace to anyone looking for a fireplace to cheer up a room.

The fire stopped working ten days after the end of the one year warranty. I contacted Britihomes and after a few discussions they agreed to repair it free of charge. It now works fine and I am pleased with the item. The fan is very quiet and the remote control provides lots of different functions. Britihomes were good to deal with., easy to contact and quick to reply to my queries.

Excellent fire. Looks great in my Lounge.Easy to assemble . Just have the flames on mostly. Easy to operate with remote. Well made.
