N100 Version Can Run OPNsense Without Breaking a Sweat
I got this MOGINSOK Firewall Appliance in December 2024. I received the "Intel Alder Lake-N100" "8GB DDR5 RAM 128GB PCIE 3.0 SSD" version of it. The appliance did come with a default install of PFsense and I was able to run through the initial setup wizard and then upgrade it to the latest version using the built-in PFsense function to do so. I have a 1GBps fiber internet connection and the appliance port I used as the uplink to the fiber jack for the service connected at 2.5Gbps. So it is good to know the appliance can support up to that speed if I upgrade my service in the future. The rest of my house is wired for GigE and the appliance connected to my main switch at the GigE speed that switch supports. So physical connection speeds to all my devices met all my expectations for this appliance.I ultimately ended up wiping the appliance and installing OPNsense on it since after comparing the two I preferred the feature set of OPNsense. I am doing a bare metal install of OPNsense and I am NOT running it as a VM. Install of OPNsense went without any problems and all 2.5Gbps NICs in the appliance were seen and I didn't have to do anything like install special drivers to support them. I pretty much enabled every thing in OPNsense from AdGuard, Unbound DNS, DHCP IPv4 services, WireGuard, and ZenArmor. I also have firewall rules dropping connections from several different public block lists which have hundreds to thousands of IPs in them. Even with all this the CPU is only averaging about 25% usage. Memory usage was only about 25% until I installed ZenGuard which made its usage jump to an average of about 75%. So if you plan to do more than what I am doing you may want to consider bumping up the memory past 8GB. For my needs 8GB is plenty. SSD disk space is negligible so 128GB is more than enough if all you plan to do is use this as a firewall. My average CPU temperature is about 52 degrees Celsius just running the appliance as is out of the box with all the configurations I have done on it and the appliance is in a not well ventilated closet. There is a BIOS setting to allow the appliance to auto-power on after a power failure and I confirmed that works. The bottom plate has screw holes for a VESA mount.Doing speed tests I am maxing out my 1 Gbps internet connection speed so the firewall appliance is not acting as a bottleneck at all. Overall I am very satisfied with this firewall appliance. It seems well made and put together nicely.

MOGINSOK 12th Gen Intel N305(up to 3.4GHz)
This works great. I am using it for TrueNAS Scale. However, I could not get the SATA drive to work. I tried several different SATA drives. It wouldn't detect in bios.

Really capable- after you install your own OS.
It comes pre-loaded with PFSense that I was unable to get out of Mandarin, so I wiped that away and installed OpenWRT. Superbly capable device- N100, 8gb LPDDR5, quad 2.5gbe ports verified giving me the entirety of my ISP's plan- 2300/350.

Compact and quiet pfsense solution
It's a nice, quiet solution to run pfsense on, so far it's been running fine.

Works well
I've used this for a month running Proxmox and it has been working wonderfully! I also contacted customer support for some setup troubleshooting and they were very responsive. Highly recommend this computer!
