Hot Air Rework Station, 8018 Portable SMD Solder Station Heat Gun Digital Temperature Display with Nozzles Tweezers, °C/°F Conversion

Surprisingly, this thing isn't too bad. It seems well built, it's light weight, and quiet. I expected the fan to vibrate like an old dump truck, but it doesn't. Heats quickly and is easy to operate. You won't be blowing leaves off your driveway with it, but it's adequate. Used it to change the USB-C connectors on a couple of Nintendo Switch games, and it works great. I hope the heating element lasts a while, as I can't see parts being readily available, but for the price, you can't beat it.

Let's see, I have used this thing to:- replace my car's side marker reflectors- melt solder and remove chips from my Switch's motherboard- remove gooey stud/drywall adhesive from my basement bathroom studs during remodeling- open impossibly tight jar lids- heating up siezed bolts during car maintenanceEASILY hot enough to do anything a heat gun needs to do, and the smaller size gets into small places. I love the digital thermometer/heat read-out. You will need to be aware that it's not a gun format, so you need to hold it differently to gain stabiity if the task you are doing requires precision. I love this thing.

Fan does not work out of the box. Heats but no airflow. Unfortunately I waited too long to test it and cannot return.Would rate zero stars if I could.

I purchased this for a single project. I had to remove a transistor that is size of a flea. Couldn’t use an iron so after a recommendation, I purchased this heat station. Worked as expected for my delicate project. Very happy. Seems well made and a fraction of the price of other. Very easy to use. This investment saved me over $100 had I needed to have my project done professionally.

The heat fluctuate on and off which is not good for hot air soldering.

I use this device primarily for heat shrink tubing. Since it comes with different size nozzles, I can easily shrink my different sizes of tubing. This is a very nice product which gives you control of temperature, air speed, and nozzle width.

Nice tool for the workbench. It will do heat-shrink tubing, or turn it up and desolder multipin connectors from circuit boards. Nice size, as well.

Garbage...the fan was not working I fixed and only worked for a couple days
