Q: Since the belt stretch does it really keep you jeans from sliding down?

I bought new jeans and they are of a very stretchy fabric. Now the belt loops are stretching along with the belt. I'm returning the jeans Keeping the belt.

Q: Does the elastic in the belt curl after use?

I haven't had that problem. I COULD see it doing it maybe if it were holding up pants that were too big in the waist. Also, I have not used it but maybe once a week, and It's not stretched extremely either. So I don't know if it would curl after long use and wear.
