Written by a skeptic who became a believer. Fabulous!
This book was written by a reporter who was originally a total skeptic about the healing ministry of Father Peter Mary Rookey. She found out that miracles happen today, much like they did over 2000 years ago. Father Peter talks to people of all faiths. He used to travel all around the world, but he is in his 90's now, and his superiors have ordered him to stay in Chicago and take phone calls, faxes, and letters. Father is a humble man, and quick to point out that he just says the words and Christ does the healing, if it is His will. But, Father Rookey does more than say the words. He prays multiple rosaries every day, the Chaplet of divine mercy, says mass and spends quite a few hours on the telephone talking to people in need.He also only eats one meal a day, and that is the last meal of the day. Of course, this is only what he will admit, and I am sure he only offers these facts as an example of how one should make sacrifices for others in need. It is a fascinating book.

This book has given me back my joy of life
My real me was a constantly joyous person, always smiling and joking with a kanck on edginess but aimed to make time enjoyable. That was until I woke to life and to spiritual battles. Then I knew that jokes were not part of my resume anymore but didn't quite grasp why, even being told by loved ones that that was happening. Then came this book about a friar that makes jokes and then cures people, makes them healthier both physically and most importantly, spiritually. Its like he almost waltz his way to healing. And I'm pretty sure that that is the way that Jesus made it before and wants it to be made. ASOBI... Enjoy what you do!If you are reading this remark up to this point... You really need to read this book... And you'll thank God, not me, for having read it for your be again yourself as you knew yourself to be before. And that's a genuine miracle in our life!

Rookey proved that one man of faith can really make a difference for the better in this world
Fr. Rookey proved that one man of faith can really make a difference for the better in this world! Fr. Rookey was an instrument of healing that God used for His greater glory. May he now rest in the peace of heaven as he left us three years ago after a holy priesthood that lasted 73 years.A very well written book by Heather Parsons who documented some of the tremendous miracles worked through this saintly friar.

Love this book!
I feel that I know Father Rookey a bit after reading this book. It was just the uplifting message I needed in these trying times. I can't do without this Miracle Prayer anymore. It's funny, I've had it the Miracle Prayer with me for years and my aunt had it before then as I inherited her prayer books and it was there the entire time. It took this book about Father Rookey to focus on it again. Thank you Father Rookie. May you rest in glorious peace. He just recently passed away a few weeks ago.

Fr. Rookey....truly was a man of miracles!
I had the pleasure of attending several of Fr. Rookey's healing Masses over the years. God granted him the Gift of healing and used him as a vehicle for so many people to be healed physically, mentally and spiritually. Oh, how we miss him being on this earth but I know he is interceding from Heaven for those we are asking for his help. Beautiful book, very informative....

Miracles
As a practising Catholic, I met Father Peter Rookey O.S.M. many years ago in Liverpool and he was very charismatic. While I was not personally 'slain in the Spirit' at one of his gatherings, I did absorb a great sense of inner peace, just by simply being part of a grace-filled congregation. The church was full to overflowing. Sadly, he could not be with us, more often, as the numerous crowds who followed him, in the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland, became almost unmanageable and the logistics for many a parish priest were daunting. As Parsons points out, this happened wherever he went. I understand that he is still alive although of a very advanced age and his death may yet lead to his joining other Venerable of the Servite Order. Father Rookey's devotion to the Virgin Mary of Sorrows is palpable. Heather Parsons has done a good job, in this little book, by trying to sum up this man whose personal humility makes an in-depth biography almost impossible. It is a heartening read for all but I hope that someone will build on her work.Margaret (Wirral U.K.)

Wonderful Man
This is the story of a very good & holy man who is 94 years old & still works tirelessly in God's name praying for people & carrying out healing services. The book describe the testaments from many people who have had miracle cures from illness as a result of Father Rookey's healing services & prayers. Father Rookey asks us to recite his 'Miracle Prayer' daily. The prayer is in the book & can also be found on the web. I recommend this book to anyone who needs spiritual guidance or is just interested to learn more about this humble priest.
