Quality Control Anyone???
First off......I am not really a Lowrance fan. Always used Garmin and prefer that brand. But the boat we purchased in May 23 came with a Lowrance HOOK Reveal 7 TS and this poorly made transducer.......you can read plenty of reviews about this Skimmer model breaking in the same place as mine did.So once mine broke after hitting a piece pf wood I had to purchase a replacement. And this is how it arrived, with a broken ratchet piece. Not made any stronger than the transducer itself apparently.Second problem.........unless you are a dealer or professional fisherman good luck trying to get someone from Lowrance to answer an e-mail.....there is no phone number I can find. I have tried twice, once when I bought the boat and recently when the transducer broke. So I know there is no way I will get a response from a broken piece of plastic.I considered sending the entire thing back for a replacement. Amazon is good about refunds/replacements but I try not to abuse the system. Since I still had the ratchet part from the previous setup, and who knows what I will receive for a replacement, I went ahead with the install.Maybe someone from Lowrance will see this review, contact me on Amazon, and send me a new piece. But I sincerely doubt it.One thing I would advise..........buy the Asurion extended warranty for three years. The price Amazon sells the transducer for, along with the cost of the extended warranty, is not much different than buying the transducer from another vendor. And I guarantee you this transducer will not last three years!
