Harry Potter & Chamber Secrets Ill Delux Hardcover – October 4, 2016

I have the first illustrated deluxe book and wanted this one, but the price was close to $300 on Barnes and Noble. I saw this one, sold from a seller in the UK, which was about $120, including shipping, and hoped that it would be the same as the one sold at BN and bought it. I was completely delighted to see that it is the same as the one on BN at about half the price. It comes with the protective cardboard box, just like the first book did, and the slipcase. I suspect that this is the British version of the story, which is exactly the same as the US version except for certain words like Mum vs. Mom. I highly recommend this version if you want a beautiful and collectible book that you can pass down to your children.

This is a beautiful book. From the slipcase to the pages it is top quality and should be for the price. The illustrations are fantastic. Well worth it. Too bad Jim is passing on the last three books. But health comes first. Hopefully whoever picks up the challenge will do it justice. Thank you Jim Kay.

Reading the deluxe illustrated editions is an immersive experience. The books have a nice, wide heavy feeling. The illustrations are gorgeous, detailed, and manage to balance not being intrusive to your own imagination of the characters and events. I love that the pages themselves are decorated and colored in ways that fit the tone and actions in the chapters. The papers of the pages themselves have a very pleasant feel. I love the Diagon Alley poster it came with and have it up next to the PS one on my wall. Cannot wait for the remaining 3 books to come out.

Boy am I glad Amazon exists in these days!I bought the limited editions that were only available in the UK/Ireland.I have always wanted a luxury Harry Potter item, and this just screamed out to me!If you don't want the hassle, or to spend easy 4-8 times the amount though, you can get the US/other languages of this book for roughly $30-$40.It is totally worth the price as I love the artwork associated with the Harry Potter novels. As good as the movies are, the art isn't the same as the illustrations that demand to be seen in these books!5 out of 5 stars FOR SURE!

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. Great collectors item. Arrived in perfect condition.
