A little brighter than original. Really like the button bottom in the kit.

First and foremost, it fits, it works and it’s definitely brighter. However, though I left the tail switch that comes with this kit in, it doesn’t matter because you still have to turn the head of the flashlight to turn it on. It’s the way these mini mags are designed. If I leave the head open a little, the switch works fine. If not, you still have to turn the head and then hit the switch or leave the switch in the on position and still just turn the head to turn it on. I opted to leave the new tail switch in but still turn the head to the off position becauseI don’t trust bumping the tail switch because while it works just fine, it’s not a hard switch to push, meaning, the spring tension isn’t all that strong. But it works fine. And yes, I would recommend this LED upgrade kit. Be nice if they charges a couple bucks more and included a glass replacement lens as well.As to a glass lens, I’d asked a question about if changing the plastic lens to a glass one was necessary or not because I wasn’t sure if it would get hot enough to affect the plastic lens or not. I think if you leave it on long enough it will eventually discolor the plastic lens. However, as long as you use it intermittently. I don’t believe it to be a necessary thing but I may do it down the road anyways simply because I believe it will help the brightness a little because the glass will reflect better than dull scratched plastic does. And as I said, I think in time it still will discolor from heat from use even if used intermittently anyways. So down the road I will replace the plastic lens for a glass lens.

These worked well. I was able to convert my old flashlights to to LED using these. I had really valuable mag flashlights but mine were bought in the '90s so I was able to update all of them.

I thought going LED would make my flashlight brighter. No no, and def not by much. Not to mention that with this set up, you cannot change the focus of the light, to make it thinner or wider ray. Lastly, the pressure put on the led holder has to be just right, if it's too loose or too tight, the light won't even come on. I fell kinda ripped off.

What a simple way to upgrade my two vintage Mini-Maglite flashlights to LED. Much brighter and battery life should improve dramatically. Easy installation, even with an “Instruction Manual” that’s only about 2” x 2”!
