This set is going to make the young builder in the family very happy. He’s a fan of Olimar so his father picked out this set with the spaceship.The instruction booklet follows the standard layout with easy to follow graphics in a numbered sequence. I do like that the pages are glossy and thicker to withstand small fingers paging through. The pieces are vividly colored and the details - Pikmin heads, are clever. He’ll have a blast putting the scene together.What I particularly like about this set is the way the pieces are packaged and numbered so you can focus on one part of the scene and you have a numbered bag with just those pieces. This makes it much friendlier for younger builders. The recommended age is 6+ and, I think, because of the way this is packaged, those younger children could handle it.I thought when I first opened the package and saw the size of some of the pieces, and that there were 400 of them, that the 6 year age reference was a bit young, but the way the total scene is broken down into manageable parts and the pieces are bagged separately for those parts, makes this doable. And, it would be a great shared activity because you can build side-by-side, each tackling a different part of the scene.
