I have been getting my hair braided, mostly for travel. The downside to braiding is that my natural hair is thinning out. In an effort to revive my hair, I have been trying out different products. I have always heard good things about Minoxidil. I mean, it's been around for decades. I remember the Rogaine commercials. Lol. Anyway, this came up on Amazon and I figured why not? I decided to give this combo a try. I am not sure if these are actually helping, because I probably have not been using them long enough. But I will share my findings so far. For reference, I have naturally curly hair that tends to be on the drier side. The shampoo feels lovely in the hair. It has a nice smell and does a great job of cleansing the hair and scalp. Now the instructions say to leave the shampoo on for a few minutes... which I did. Upon rinsing the shampoo out, I did notice that my hair felt a bit dried out. I followed up with an "Intense Hydration" moisturizing conditioner from Shea Moisture which quickly remedied the dryness. On to the serum. I followed the instructions and massaged the serum/oil into the areas I felt needed help, which was mainly around the hairline and nape at the back of my neck. I let it dry thoroughly. I will say, I did get a minor amount of irritation/tingling on the first use. But, not so much to make me uncomfortable enough to stop treatment. It kinda made me feel like, "Yes! It's doing something!" Lol. I have continued to use this combo every time I wash my hair. My scalp must have acclimated because I'm not getting that initial irritation anymore. I am hoping to see some real results by the time the bottles are done.

I ordered this combo because the minoxidil with biotin oil was not available alone. The shampoo burned my scalp. My scalp was burning until I could wash it out-30 minutes. It has peppermint as an ingredient. I’m assuming that is what gave the burning sensation.The minoxidil/biotin oil is great, but not with this shampoo.

Tried about 6 months, it works slowly. While this takes a while to see the difference, even if it's slight. I'm happy and looking forward to trying more.

Excellent packaging, and a comprehensive instruction sheet is included written in almost perfect English (product is from China). Also a $5 coupon for future purchase. The minoxidil comes in a glass bottle with a glass eye dropper for application - the usual method that has worked for me best through the years. You get 1oz of the solution. If bought as just 5% minoxidil, you can get such a product for @ $10. Here you pay $20 for the "kit", the other part of it being 6.8oz of a shampoo that contains biotin (a B vitamin purpotted to help hair health). So you are paying an extra $10 to get a fancy shampoo with your minoxidil. The biotin shampoo gig is being played by multiple major brands, although experts are skeptical if the very brief contact any biotin has with the scalp while washing hair could have any real benefit. But this shampoo seems good quality, feels good on the hair and you'd have to buy some shampoo anyway, so the "kit" looks like a fair value. I'd likely buy it again, especially with the $5 off coupon.

I used both products over time and didn't notice a big enough difference to give it 5 stars or say with assurance that it works for hair growth. I did like how the products made my hair feel though.
