Built very sturdy, not what I expected

After years of having to deal with flimsy cheap plastic food trays in my old camp coolers I bought this one for my new R-TIC 52 quart cooler. This food tray is heavy duty plastic and I will never have to worry about it breaking on one of my camping trips and sending all the food I had in the tray for a swim in the ice water. Well worth the money. The kids are not going to break this food tray.

People say this is "heavy", and I'd say that's fair IF you're comparing it to a flimsy plastic insert. I see this easily lasting as long as I expect the RTIC 52 Qt cooler that it fits perfectly in to last. It doesn't flex or bend easily - I weigh 180 and stood on it, flipped upside down (which I don't recommend trying, but I just had to see) and it supported me with ease.

These fit perfectly, but they're perhaps a bit too heavy duty. They're really thick plastic which is good - but they weigh a lot. I'm not sure if I like it or not - but I think I'd prefer a wire basket if those were stocked by RTIC at all..

Had issues finding the basket for the 52 L rtic send then came across this. Fits perfectly. As mentioned in other reviews, it does have some weight to it. I equate that to quality. I think I more prefer this solid basket versus the wire. Nothing falls through out gets wet. Great addition to the cooler

We love that this dry basket keeps our bread fresh while maximizing space in RV. We also have the wire basket. They pair well together to organize cooler contents.

Great addition to the cooler. Works great.
