Do not buy from a third party seller using amazon!!!
Awesome Performance Router! Everything else like regular MikroTik RouterOS router.I got my Mikrotik CCR1016-12G Routerboard-Cloud Core Router ordered from Amazon, delivered by UPS. The outer box was OK. After unpacking and testing Router I found that touch LCD screen had a crack and was not working. Despite a cracked LCD the router itself was working .The same day, I initiated a return of the item. I was misguided that my purchase on Amazon.com is protected by an A-to-z guarantee policy. Though it is true when you buy directly from amazon it is not if you buy from a third party using amazon as advertising gateway to do dishonest business. An item that has been returned is usually not in pristine condition, even if the box has not been opened. There's definitely a loss of money, time and effort on the part of the Buyer. There's the extra work for seller of having to resell the product and maybe get stuck with something that was special ordered in the first place. It is unfair for the Buyer as well as for the Seller to have to absorb those loses when it has not been his/her mistake. So I turned to UPS to file a clam, after all it was damaged during the shipping. Well, UPS refused to deal with this type of a clam because there was no damage on the shipping box. The router was dumped by seller into the shipping box without any cushion protection. After all it was been the Seller's mistake, as the item was not properly packed and/or shipped. The Seller was agreeing to take it back, but I had to pay for returning it! Why should I pay $20 for shipping return label or 20% restocking fee? So, I ended up buying new LCD touch screen for $5 from eBay and replacing it myself.

Great Gear
Great router but certainly not for the faint of heart. If you are not familiar with Mikrotik or other enterprise grade networking equipment this might not be for you. Mikrotik gear is generally pretty reliable and used all over the world but you have to know your stuff when it comes to networking. The Quickset features can help you in places but it would set you up completely.

Powerful, fast and fairly straightforward.
Great router. Much easier to configure than the HPE MSR2000 series I was working with previously. The quick setup wizard made getting the IP settings up and running nearly instant, and there are good guides on their wiki and in the discussion pages for setting up most anything on at least a basic level. This is an enterprise-level router so it's not as straightforward to get going as a preconfigured consumer router, but again, the OS is very intuitive (at least to my brain) when compared to the offerings of Cisco and HPE (with the possible exception of the Aruba Instant series, which are the simplest to configure I've seen yet). Having the LCD on the front panel to quickly view basic functions and IO without logging into the OS is great, and it can be flipped in software for use if you decide to mount the router upside down. The initial setup on this particular model does not preset LAN ports or a DHCP server, but if you connect with their WinBox software (this can be done on any Ethernet port via the router's MAC address) you can use the Quick Set to build a fast basic LAN network and set up a WAN port to be a DHCP client or static IP. All in all I took a few hours to learn the OS basics and get it up and running, but once I did it has been working flawlessly and my more finicky devices have been giving me significantly less trouble with UPNP and streaming protocols. Cheers.

Great router. Extremely limited support
Great router. Extremely limited support. Just enough on-line instructions to get you into trouble. The router is not for networking newbies, which is what you won't be once you've figured it out. But worth the effort, as it's relatively inexpensive and very capable.
