All right something I bought that did not suck!
So far this is a beast, I thought it would be some chincey POS, nope way better than expected based on the cost. I have bought cruddier for more money.

Great for making homemade dogfood
This food processor worked fantastically for grinding up organ meats for my dog. I very lightly cook the organs, add appropriate veggies, and dog vitamins, and grind them up together. The smell grosses me out – but I hardly have to handle them – and I can put LARGE pieces in this device. I love this appliance, and my girl has never eaten so well! Oh, good for human meals, too!

Processor Progress
This is a clear improvement over my old Hamilton Beach food processor (though its bowl is smaller and its price is higher). I bought the old one mainly for operational simplicity and strong circulation (great for salsa), but then found that it lacked basic abilities like slicing at more than one thickness. Also it was painfully loud and shrill: a simple mandolin seemed more capable and much quieter.I also owned an older Cuisinart Classic Pro, which had a great motor but was otherwise an extravagance of time-wasting, patience-exhausting plastic tubes and latches (with six single-purpose disks sharing the same awkward adapter). Now, using this new Hamilton Beach model, I can concentrate on food processing, not on trying to work the food processor.A few weaknesses -1. Cord storage: a welcome concept but extremely stiff and hard to use.2. Bowl scraper: food that sticks to the bowl also sticks to this scraper, so you still need a spatula, though none is included; also the scraper can’t be used with slicing or grating disks or the dough blade - only with the “S-blade” (for which it at least makes a good counter-top pedestal).3. Motor and gear noise: no longer painfully shrill & piercing, but far from pleasant or reassuring. It sounds more like a workshop tool than a kitchen appliance. Vibration is noticeable even if not troublesome.4. The lid: this still has internal bracing that food packs into, making washing up harder. The slicing disk has a similar problem.Multiple strengths -1. The “stacking” design functions brilliantly, with components falling into place pretty much on their own (the lid, because of its gasket, resists slightly unless you open and close it with a prying motion using the feed tube as a lever); locking the stack in is a two-handed but otherwise effortless step.2. The variable slicing disk is easy to adjust and use. It cuts cleanly and appears durable. (And it turns out really neat potato chips for air frying.)3. Overall size and weight are moderate, therefore convenient for either on-counter or cabinet storage - and the metal latching arm makes a great handle for moving the unit.4. Processing operations are generally very quick (though the blade should stop a bit sooner).5. No adapters are needed when changing blades or disks - everything is built in and ready to go. Elements just drop into place and are mostly self-aligning.6. The feeder tube is long and fairly large, without unnecessary safety devices (though a narrower carrot/celery feeder insert would be a welcome optional accessory). It easily accommodates medium sized Yukon Gold potatoes or a thick zucchini squash.7. The lid gasket retains oils and other messy liquids effectively.8. The included box for blade and disk storage is admirably compact. An ambiguous feature is the rubber suction cup design of the unit’s feet. They grip well enough and pry loose somewhat easily using the feeder tube or latching handle as a lever - but I could do without them. Maybe if I made dough or nut butters, I’d feel differently.Documentation is typical, meaning poor, but the learning curve for this model is short and the user’s experience is pleasant and low-fatigue. With a quieter motor and gearbox, this would be a five-star product. Even as it is, I’m glad I bought it and I expect to use it regularly and happily.

We really like ours
We replaced an ancient HB Wide Mouth food processor with this one after the springs on our old one rusted out in the feed tube. It lasted 20 years so not bad. We really like the versatility of this model and the fact that you don't have to get fussy about lining parts up to get it ready to chop. We've had it for about six months and it's still going strong so hopefully we get a few more years out of it. (Never a given with today's appliances.)

Meet my prep chef. It's earned its place in my kitchen.
For an appliance to be valuable, it must be useful and worthwhile to use. It must make life easier and help you get things done. This food processor does a very good job at that. Just the right size. It had it's inaugural use today with slicing sweet potatoes and apples for a slow cooker side dish. Then used it for slicing mushrooms for another slow cooker side dish. The fact that you can set the slicing thickness is awesome. Worked well for different recipe needs. Then I used it to pulse up some crackers for topping one of those side dishes. No hiccups and good power. I really like the easy to use design. Provides what you need for all the different types of recipes and uses. So glad I purchased even when at the time of my purchase, it was a higher price than at the time of this review.Side notes: I decided that any appliance that allows me to make good food fast at home will pay for itself as long I as I'm willing to use them. This is a very nice addition to the slow cookers, pressure cooker, and Ninja 4-in-1 that allows me to make home cooked meals every day and no longer rely on fast food or frozen meals.

not cheap thin plastic- very durable
I bought this for the slicing and shredding blades with several thicknesses. I didn't understand the directions so when I used it for the first time, shredding for potato pancakes came out mush. My fault- forgot to use low power as directed, and probably did not have the blade adjusted correctly. Directions said to put the blade in the bowl and adjust the thickness. Didn't understand this. So I removed the blade and took a good look at it, inserted my two fingers in the holes and turned it. That was easy.Been using this many times and am really quite pleased with the results. HAndle securely locks the processor. Only had to struggle a little to remove the lid when done. So I applied some olive oil around the rubber seal, and voila, easy removal. I just wish it would have come in 6 or 7 cup size, because of our family size. The quality is excellent - superior to my Cuisinart and I doubt if the plastic will ever chip or break.

Shakes
I've only used it once, to mix pumpkin pie. All the ingredients were pretty soft to begin with, and the processor got the job done, but it shook so much on the counter that I felt I should hold it while it worked. I probably didn't need to, but it didn't feel as solid as I'm used to with my former processor. I don't know if I'll try milling my own flour with this machine, but it did make pie filling. The issue that prompted me to write a review is that my cord storage doesn't work. I guess I'm supposed to laboriously stuff the cord up into the hole it comes out of, but it won't go in. Out of the box, my cord storage mechanism was broken. I communicated with support but they just sent me copies of the manual, which says the cord goes into the hole. Nope, it doesn't. Not on mine.
