Shea Moisture Nourishing Moisture-rich Color Creme - Medium Blonde, 1 Ea, 1count

I researched this brand on Ulta before purchasing it. A huge percentage of the people who'd used it advised future purchasers to buy a color that is lighter than the color they want because the resulting color on their hair would be much darker than it showed on the box. Based on those reviews, I bought a lighter brown than I wanted, believing that I would end up with dark brown hair. I ended up with hair that was precisely the same color as the box. I only mention that just in case other people had received the same advice I had. The reason I gave it 5 stars is that it's a far superior product compared to the many other brands I've tried in the past. It actually lightened my hair without bleach or any other harsh chemicals. It smelled wonderful. It completely covered ALL my gray, and the conditioner they give you to put on after you use it is some of the best I've ever used. I colored my hair about 3 or so weeks ago, and the color hasn't faded and there's no gray hair visible yet. I wash my hair almost daily, so that's pretty impressive.

I searched every beauty supply in my area and 2 other countries. NO ONE had it but AMAZON 😊. Had to wait 2wks for it [backorders or something] but it was definitely worth the wait. THIS WAS THE BEST HAIR DYE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE. Two easy steps, the dye didnt drip like others do -it was cream based, washing it out was not messy--this was GREAT!! They also included a Porosity packet which made my hair feel so silky and moisturized. End result = MY hair color exceeded my expectations and it still looks AWESOME. This product was great on my natural hair -- my husband loves how it looks [worth noting because he's my biggest fan / never lies when I ask how I look😍]. As soon as I washed the product out of my hair I saw my great color---I loved it and he walked in and said, "wow- your hair looks great!" Unsolicited compliment = MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 💃🏾💃🏾!!

I’ve been using this color for a few years and I believe it’s no longer being made so I will look for something new soon. I ordered four boxes and I need two boxes for just one application for my roots. I need 3-4 boxes if I color all my hair. The seller sent me three boxes of the dark blonde that I ordered and one box of medium blonde (I did not want this). Tired of having to return so many damaged or wrong items sent to me by Amazon, so I’m keeping it. These usually arrive with bursted tubes of color. This time none of them were bursted which is nice. I’ll probably use the lighter color on the bottom half. Hopefully it doesn’t look bad. I have dirty blonde hair (quite dark) and I achieve a light strawberry blonde after 90-120 minutes. 60 minutes after application is not enough to make this color stick. I believe the box recommends 30 minutes.

I am always looking for a cruelty free hair color kit and they are extremely hard to find. I decided to try this one and I am so glad I did. It doesn't have that strong chemical smell that all the drug store brands do and it leaves my hair so soft. The conditioner they give you is wonderful. I have short hair so I have been able to use it for weeks after. The applicator didn't want to give a lot of product so I had to cut a larger hole. I ended up cutting it a little too big so I made a huge mess putting it on but that may have been my fault. I am definitely going to use a bowl and brush to color next time I use this instead of the little bottle they provide but that is just preference. This will be my new hair color kit from now on and most importantly...IT IS CRUELTY FREE!!!!!

I have tried several other brands from cheapy (Clairol) to more expensive (Schwarzkopf and John Frieda) and HANDS DOWN Shea Moisture is truly amazing! First of all, it does NOT smell like I am placing chemicals on my head or leave an overpowering, nauseating smell in bathroom. The conditioning packet included in the box is truly magical as it leaves my hair shiny and soft instead of brittle and dry with other brands. Color easily lasts 8 weeks, have gone as long as 12 weeks but the grey hairs poking out give me away. One word of advise: I purchased soft black rather than jet black based on other reviews. Soft black is definitely dark enough.

I ordered the Medium Brown and have high porosity, 3a/4a shoulder length hair. The hair color smelled better than any box color I've ever tried and the amount given was generous. I prewet hair before coloring to ensure it would spread through my hair evenly. The color was very thick and didn't drip at all! I processed for 25 minutes and rinsed.My hair is not medium brown. Not even close. It's very dark brown, almost black. I knew from another person's review that this might happen with this color, and had already decided that if it happened, I'd be ok with it. The dark color works on me, so it's ok. Buy if you're expecting MEDIUM brown, you're not going to get it.I will say that the deep conditioner that came with it is LIFE and I will be buying a full size. It made my hair amazingly soft and curly and it smelled heavenly.So just be aware. Med brown is actually a cool to neutral very dark brown. If you're AA and familiar with weave/wig colors, it turned out to be a #2.Edit: a year later: this color does not remove. If you use it and want to go lighter later, it doesn't budge. I'm still growing it out so I can have the brown ginger hair I want. Just thought I'd let readers know. Not vitamin C+shampoo method, and barely bleach budge this color. Just be warned.

Smells good - way less chemically than other drugstore box dyes I have tried. And it works really well if you follow the directions to a T. I have thick, straight, light brown hair and I only left it in for 15 minutes and my hair did not turn black like other people have said it did for them. You just have to keep checking the color periodically as it processes. I assume if I had left it in for the full 30 minutes it probably would have gone way too dark. It's also really nice that they made an effort to put fewer harsh chemicals in it than other brands, totally recommend.

I tried this product on sample area of hair and had No Effect and No changes on my hair... still with grey hair and my golden brown color.

I have short natural hair and never dye or use any chemical products on my hair without going to a salon but COVID has changed things.This was great. Easy to apply and my hair was fully done within 20 minutes. Used a no sulphate shampoo which worked well.My hair took to the colour well, no material change in curl pattern. Would recommend

I was so excited to find out Shea Moisture did a hair dye because I love their products for my 3c/4a hair. This dye is great! The result is a very dark, rich brown colour. It comes with a deep conditioning mask which has left my hair feeling soft and hydrated. The seller also put in some sachets of sulfate and paraban free shampoo which smelt AMAZING and were a great added touch!

Not impressed. Product has changed. I have dark brown Afro hair, I used a brighter shade about 18mths prior, from this range which came out beautifully bright. That had grown out almost completely. This however barely changed colour, even on the brighter ends. The extras were drying on my hair, unlike the ‘original’ Shea moisture range (the ones with the artistic women on the front). I believe they were bought by another company and I’ve noticed since then the products seem different. Not very impressed.
