Instructions could have been clearer with words. Picture descriptions not great! Tried 2 types of these bafflers....they don't work so great on shepherd hooks. Hence....squirrels win!

Very happy with this bird feeder baffle. It is very well made and does not seem like it will rust. Super easy to install, but just using the hanging hook. This has definitely worked to keep the bird food dryer. This is very important because wet food becomes unusable after a while and is a mess to clean up. This should fit most bird feeders and it will get the job done for you you and the birds.

Seems effective at keeping the feed and birds dryer, slightly less effective at keeping the squirrels out but that's due to our proximity to the tree. The metal is covered with a solid paint layer which should prevent corrosion. Size is on the small side, but that will depend on what you're covering.

I got this baffle mainly to keep the rain out of the feeder tray. The bird feeder I have has a small roof over it and the rain gets into the tray making the seed clump together and sprout, which makes it hard to clean. This baffle is easy to put together and hang on top of another feeder. It's got a nice wide diameter to keep the rain out and it's helped a lot. Of course on very windy days some rain is still going to get in, but this has been helpful. It's sturdy and the coating looks great even after being out in the elements for weeks. I think that this is going to last a very long time (I wouldn't be surprised if it outlasts the bird feeder!). The hardware on it is also durable and sturdy. I like the green color, it helps it blend in to the background so my eyes are not drawn to it when I look out the window. I'm very pleased with it.

This bird feeder baffle is a beautiful soft green. It comes with a hook for hanging a bird feeder underneath it, presumably to keep squirrels away (but squirrels are smart about getting around things like that). I use it with a different purpose—for catching seeds that fall from a bird feeder. It took some ingenuity to figure out how to attach it to the bottom of my cylinder feeder but it works great in catching seeds the birds drop. Hopefully this will keep sunflowers from sprouting in the grass below.

I ordered this with hopes of it keeping some of the bird food dry when it rains. It does if you just have a small rain shower, but because it is mostly flat and not concave, a lot of rain can still get into the feeder that you hang under it. Its current price of $25.99 is higher than some better made rain/squirrel guards. This would be a great purchase if you live in an area that gets little rain, but I am in the midwesst and we have severe storms and water in bird food turns into a moldy mess.
