Webly British Revolver

Its ok
I bought this prop pistol to use on my pinball machine.I read reviews about it not being very good and then you open it the parts fall out.Well its a prop pistol, not intended to be built like a real one.I cut the barrel off to mimic the pistol on my pinball machine which BTW is just cast solid, so this one is a big improvement!Yes the cylinder does spin and keeps spinning when you put the trigger, but I intend to fix that with heavy grease and larger indents where the ball and spring are located.Otherwise its a prop gun.I only gave it 4 stars since it could have been made a little better without costing more.

Decent prop
Haven't had time to fidgit with it intensively, but it seems to work alright. I bought this mostly because it's the "best" option for the price. Probably would have paid more for a better replica but there don't seem to be many less than hundreds of dollars out there. Seeing as I won't be using it too much, it's not bad for the price and such. I'm a little scared to attempt messing with it too much, seeing previous reviews about springs and losing them!

Very diapping Webly
I have bought several different Props from different manufacturers, and the DENIX is the worst one yet. NOTHING works except the trigger.

Good replica.
Fast delivery, and product as described. Good weight and detailing. Be aware, it has been designed so that the action does not open. (opening the break-top could result in losing pieces.) So without modifications, you can't pretend to load and unload. Does not have a functional extractor. As a display piece or theatrical prop, though, it is a good representation of this pistol.

Rather decent reproduction
This Enfield break-action revolver, all in all, is not a bad bit of work for the price. Breaks open, trigger, hammer and cylinder function properly.

Typical Denix
A cyber Monday special grabbed me by the throat and forced me to buy one of these Denix Webley replicas. 50% off made it quite a bargain but I'd have to say it is well worth Amazon.com asking price ($66 as I write this). First of all, the Webley revolver is just a classic of the British Empire. It makes a nice costume accessory for the late-Empire period or for steampunk. Second, there is no way that I would invest the money to get a real functioning Webley having no need for the actual firearm.I have several Denix replicas and the Wenley is typical of them. I believe these models are made of zink which has a nice weight but does not take to bluing so the finish is painted. This detracts a bit from the otherwise authentic look of the piece. The grips are plastic and although they look okay they don't feel right. Surely, Denix could surely have invested a euro or two in wood, Bakelite, or hard rubber for the grips. The first thing I did after opening the box and taking the replica out was to slide back the catch and break the revolver. Let me dispel the notion that this model does not break like the original, it pretty much does. Now, there was a little piece of paper in the box that warned me not to break the pistol but, of course, I didn't even see that until after I had already done it. The chamber immediately fell out which caused a spring to launch the cylinder stop across the room like a projectile. Oops.It didn't take a great deal of effort to put everything back together but somehow the sudden release caused the spring to pick up a bunch of extra springiness. The chamber wouldn't rotate, at least not easily. Leaving the spring or stop out caused the chamber to rotate ceaselessly every time I pulled the trigger. Replacement with a slightly smaller spring had me back in business and everything working as it should.Yes, I could have avoided the hassle by unpacking the entire contents of the box and actually reading the paperwork in there but, seriously, they should make the warning more prominent. Also, would it kill them and break the bank to actually make the replica break exactly like the original?Despite my misadventure, I'm pleased with the replica overall. It has a nice look and feel and comes at a pretty nice price.

Fortunately, I read all the reviews after purchasing this ...
Fortunately, I read all the reviews after purchasing this item because when I went to remove the orange plug, it fell down in the barrel. It was here I read about the spring and cylinder and the danger of opening the revolver. I was careful to hold the cylinder and broke the weapon open, carefully removed the cylinder, held the spring in place, and dumped out the orange plug. it went back together fine, but the other raters are correct, the cylinder does not always mover or it spins. Nice static replica, I would not use it while re enacting.
