Everything a Smart Lock should be !
Great product, easy to retro fit with no damage or screw holes in the door, great Battery life (I am comparing to August WiFi lock which last around 6 weeks on a set of batteries)… Finger print ID is super fast (less than a second) and the door lock is very quick to open.I have now purchased 3 of these for 2 properties… hoping they hold up well as the age.. hopeful they will as they seem very well made.

Did I lock the door!?
As with all Aqara gear, this is great. Works a treat with Apple HomeKit and I never now have to ask that question; did I lock the door!?

Does what it should.
Overall it’s great. Rare connectivity issues.Battery life is OK, but it can be better. Installation is easy but you can easily make mistakes if you don’t read the instructions carefully. Calibration process is straightforward.Functionality is great. One issue i had is that the double tape is not strong enough to hold on my door, the lock was not stable when in operation. I eventually had to drill the door and fix the plate of the lock with screws for better stability.

A Truly Superior Smart Lock Experience
Let me tell you, I've used a lot of smart locks over the years, and in my experience, the Aqara Smart Lock U200 is in a league of its own. From its sleek silver design to its seamless integration with just about every smart platform out there—Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings—this lock has it all.One of the standout features for me is the fingerprint keypad. It's not just about the added convenience, but the responsiveness. I remember one chilly morning when I was juggling a coffee cup and some groceries. The last thing I wanted to do was fumble for keys. With a swift touch, the U200 had me inside and warming up in no time. It's these moments that really elevate a smart lock from good to must-have.Plus, the inclusion of the Apple Home Key feels like they went the extra mile. If you're an Apple user like I am, you'll appreciate the fluid integration that doesn't miss a beat. Battery life has always been a concern for me with smart locks. However, the rechargeable battery of the U200 holds up impressively well under regular use. Come to think of it, it's actually been a few weeks before I last thought about recharging. What really seals the deal is that it supports Matter over Thread, which is proving to be the backbone of smart home future-proofing. I tend to think it's worth investing in tech that won't become obsolete too soon, and the U200 fits that bill perfectly.Overall, if you're in the market for a smart lock that combines functionality with future-facing technology, the Aqara Smart Lock U200 makes a compelling choice. It's the kind of smart home hardware you miss when you don’t have it.

Really disappointed
Terrible, got this in January 25th 2025 and it’s faulty already :( Amazon don’t support and you have to go to Aqara, and they say Amazon have incorrectly put their support details…. Going to try and get support again but not hopeful

Wow....
I have to say that I am impressed. The instructions are not the best, but i got there in the end, and boy is it fast acting. I would recommend this product, but be aware that it's not a 5 min installation.

Six months after buying this
If your thinking of buying this I'm assuming your quite deeply into smart home products as its not your average beginner product so let me ask you this.... is your smart home 100% glitch and trouble free? Well guess what.... this thing is no exception.... I've had this thing nearly six months now and I can safely say it's one of the least reliable devices I have... just what you want securing your home. My advise is as much as you might want to have a smart lock they simply aren't reliable enough just like that speaker that keeps disconnecting or the light that randomly won't turn off. Save yourself the stress and stick to the good old 100% reliable key.

Great Features, Some Setup Hiccups, but Best UK Option
I'm giving the Aqara Smart Lock U200 4 stars. After having two Nukis in a row, I got frustrated with both the pricing of accessories and the slow response to software issues. While this lock has had its issues—setting up with Matter can be frustrating and I've seen others on forums having similar problems—the key is to properly follow the setup instructions from power on, especially holding the set button. It takes a while but does eventually get there.I run this on a Matter network with an Apple TV 4K and Home Assistant, and it works great. The software is actively being worked on, though it still feels slightly beta-like. There are a few features you miss with just a Matter setup without the Aqara hub, which is mentioned in the description, so double-check that you have what you need.In day-to-day use, the wife approval is high. The keypad, fingerprint, and HomeKey (which I love) all work flawlessly, with the fingerprint being the winner. The upcoming iOS 18 update this autumn adds Apple Home guest HomeKeys, which is a cherry on top.Overall, even though this smart lock has a few software updates to go before reaching its peak, it's without a doubt the best on the market for the UK. Until we get a solid option to handle multipoint locks, this is unquestionably the best UK option.
