Piatnik 2697 "Samba Canasta Card Game (3 x 55-Piece)

These cards are not purpose made for the game of Samba as advertised!I bought these cards to replace well worn Samba cards & these are rubbish! The picture cards are not traditional Jack & Queen but have the letters B & D……Also my current cards have a point value on each card & these do not. And lastly the backs of the cards are different colours, so I might have just bought 3 packs of cards for a much cheaper cost!

Unfortunately I did not read any reviews as I have purchased a similar pack of cards previously and never thought they would be any different. These are not marked up with the points system and therefore fairly useless as Samba cards, if I had wanted random playing cards I could have purchased three cheaper packs of ordinary playing cards. Deeply disappointed and now too late to return. Buyer beware.

Unfortunately this turned out to be an Austrian set of cards, so the Queen is marked with a D not a Q, the Jack is marked with a B instead of J, and none of the cards are marked with Canasta points, unlike other packs designed purely for Canasta. Being fairly new to the game, we have to keep referring to a separate sheet of rules to determine points value. Although the game can still be played, and I have kept the set of cards, in hindsight, I would not have purchased this particular set of cards.

These are not canasta cards. They do not show points value, and there are no rules included. Simply 3 plain packs of cards in a Samba Canasta box.

I ordered these thinking it would be good to have 3 decks in 1box instead of buying 2packs(4decks), They took ages to arrive, rules are in German, and jacks are B and queens are D. The cards are good quality,
