An awesome read
It is an amazing read to understand how so many things we take for granted got to us and how lot of the critical materials are intertwined with each other. A must read for someone who wishes to understand how lot of the things around us work. Thanks Ed for painstakingly collating it and connecting them so well.

Great book for almost every human on the planet!
It explains so well the the importance of the materials being used to construct and power our world along with their relevant history. It's written in such a fluid way - almost like a story, yet it is a book of facts. And these facts couldn't be more important than they are as of today.

A wake up call
The descriptions covering the journey of the key materials from its nascent source to its many final forms for human consumption is very well done. Raising a concern about the enormity of our use of mother earth in all forms is a good wake up call to the current generation and the past ( me included) to be mindful in consumption and wastage and contribution to recycling sooner.

Half way through it and all I can say is it's captivating.
The book is so readable and keeps you affixed that I have read almost the half of it in only 3 sittings. It's great.

Great writing style. I really enjoyed the book and the history of many of the materials is now clear. Good choice of the six materials.
