A MUST HAVE
I have used the 'bullet' chamber versions before many times in bore sighting various calibers, but to be honest, most of them are junk that seem to fail or lose their accuracy in relatively short time. So I had low expectations when I purchased the LaserLyte Bore Sight, expecting it also to be of questionable quality. Here is what I have experienced using it on four (4) different calibers, and working alongside a commercial laser for comparison.PLUSES- The unit is nicely built, and has a nice 'heft' to it, and looks like it was machined from one piece of aluminum.- Snugly installed in the bore with the proper caliber plug, the bore sight measurement is 'true' as far as the laser functionality. At 25 yds, it mapped to my commercial laser dead on.- The laser function employs three (3) CNB G5A batteries, which a re easily available from any battery source. I was able to see the red dot about 50 yards fairly clearly without issues during daylight against a dark target.- Comes with four (4) different caliber bore plugs that screw on the end of the bore sight to snug the fit into the barrel.- Works pretty well with handguns with 4" barrels or longer.IMPROVEMENTS- The dial to turn on the laser isn't a great design in my opinion. It works, but is too sensitive for my taste. I would recommend taking the batteries out during storage, or you may find out your bore sight laser is dead the next time you try to use it.- Needs a small carrying case, preferably a hard sided case. I'm surprised LaserLyte didn't provide one, but for transporting to the range you'll need one to keep from bending the long thin end of the bore sight.- The instructions are fairly clear, but for the novice, more detailed instructions regarding the sighting in process might be welcomed.- The bore plugs are made of plastic. I would have preferred brass or aluminum plugs that don't distort over time. I also think most people would pay the additional dollars to have those vs. the plastic plugs. On balance, this is a good tool to have in your rifle kit. It is a bit more expensive that conventional chambered bore sights, but this one actually delivers, and doesn't get stuck in the firing chamber, or wobble around from rifle to rifle.

Great bore sight, here are some instructions...
I am new to pistol shooting and my goal is to enter some competitions. I wanted a bore sight for my .22lr because it has adjustable rear sight and being new at this I did not want to adjust the pistol sight to any of my bad shots with live fire but rather to adjust/refine my shooting technique with correctly calibrated sights. For this reason, I was willing to pay a few extra $ to make sure that the bore sight would be fairly accurate and this seemed to be a better choice and versatile in order to be able to be used with other caliber pistols also. Before I was going to start adjusting the rear sight to this bore sight, I wanted to make sure that it is accurate so I fitted it in a Glock that has factory, non adjustable, sights and to my surprise, the Glock's sights were perfectly aligned with the laser dot produced by this bore sight so I knew that adjusting the .22 sights according to this bore sight would give me the correct windage and elevation adjustments. Here is how to use it: This bore sight comes with 4 plastic attachments and 4 small screws. The length of the screws varies depending on the attachment. For small calibers you will need to screw the small screw in the plastic attachment all the way (Do not strip the plastic. The screws go on tight and you must not try to over tighten them when all the way in the plastic so you do not strip the plastic threads). Once the screw is all the way in the plastic attachment, you can now screw that little assembly on the bore sight just enough that the plastic will expand to the size of the barrel hole and go in but not be too loose. Insert the bore sight further in and as you go, keep tightening a little so the plastic attachment keeps conforming on the barrel size. The goal is to insert the whole thing in the barrel until the end of the barrel touches the aluminum housing of the bore sight. Then start turning the bore sight clockwise and as you turn, the plastic attachment at the end of it will expand and grab against the barrel so it will pull the bore sight tight against the barrel. Do not over tighten, what you want is for the whole assembly to be tight enough against the end of the bore so it does not move around. Now you can turn it on and adjust your sights to the laser dot at the distance you would like (there are some instructions about distance adjustment but they seem to be for riffles not pistols). The attached picture shows the 2 different types of screws and the attachments. I put the screws in 2 of the attachments (9mm and .22) and one of those is on the bore sight. On the 9mm attachment, you can see the screw extending out of it so you can attach the whole thing at the end of the bore sight. The second picture shows a close view of the 9mm plastic attachment with the screw in it ready to be attached to the bore sight. There are some instructions that come with it but the procedure that I described here is kind of not apparent in the pictures and few words. I hope this helped.███ UPDATE 4/16/2018 - Since this review, this bore sight malfunctioned but I will not take any stars away because I believe that the batteries needed to be changed and I fiddle around with the battery spring so now the laser appears very week and I have to put pressure on the contacts to get it to work. So this malfunction is on me and I am sure I can still make it work but I needed a bore sight that week and I purchased the Sightmark SM39024 Triple Duty Universal Bore Sight (Red) and I am very happy with it because it is very accurate and very easy to use since it is magnetic but may not work well if you have a muzzle break. Nevertheless, I still like this LaserLyte bore sight and would recommend it but if you are looking for something that you can quickly attach, you should look at the Sightmark. ███

Pretty good
This is a fairly good laser but the on/off switch is a bit difficult to use. I’d give it more stars if it weren’t for this. IMO, there are cheaper ones that are better.

Very useful tool and makes accurate sighting much quicker.
Contrary to some reviews out there, this light is very easy to use and makes sighting of both iron sights and optics a breeze. Careful adjustment of the correct screw plug makes for a snug fit and a parallel reference light. Sights were taken most of the way without even being on the range or firing a single round. Once in the field, three shots established proper zero and we were locked and ready to go. Saves time and lots of ammo.
