SONY MDR-EX650 B Inner Ear Headphones Brass Black

I have been involved in high end audio since 1976, when I had my first job at a Hi Fi store selling McIntosh equipment. What I learned then and what still applies is that musicality is what counts the most in quality audio equipment. I have been trying to find in ear headphones that bring good musicality at a good price. I purchased these in ear headphones in November and have been usingthem extensively since then. I am confident in giving a review of these headphones now that I have had sufficient time to listen to them. I will tell you that these are the most balanced sounding earphones I have ever listened to. The base is strong but not overpowering. The midrange is very clear and very smooth, almost liquid sounding. The treble is extended and very detailed without being sibilant or harsh. the base is extremely impressive because it is full and rich but never gets bloomy or flabby, it is tight and clean. Vocals come through very clear and clean and you can hear the subtle nuances in each vocalists' voice. the trouble doesn't have the air and sparkle that you get with a balanced armature earphone, but that is not a bad thing. The treble on this model is absolutely fine and balances extremely well with the rest of the frequencies. Another positive attribute of these headphones is that they give a much wider soundstage than most any other in-ear modeI I've tried. In my opinion, these ear phones rivals other phones that sell in the $200.00 range. The crowning touch is the fact that they are extremely comfortable to wear, even for extended periods of time. My ears are sensitive and these are the first earphones I have had that I can wear comfortably lying my side with my head on a pillow. These are extremely musical, good sounding earphones and are well worth a look if you want excellent balanced sound at a good price.

I took 3 months to buy a earphone and i ended up with this, all i would say for these is :Build : Metal,plunge and smooth finish.Sound: Superb Blended bass, i am not sure how the amplifier is been designed to pump the correct amount of air to your ears, but i feel good blow of bass.I wanna conclude saying this, man if you want a good ruggish bass earphones drill these in and if you like a body build addiction then no step ahead you gonna soon tear your pocket as well arms coz this has no hooks and slips.i haven't heard anything good than this yet.Jai Sony !!

Simply the best in ear headphones I've used. The upgrade from budget in ears are beyond my expectations. I'm a big music lover of all genres from opera to hip hop to heavy metal and electronic music. I did fairly extensive research before settling on these sony. It was what hifi's product of the year 2014. So i decided to take the chance on them. I was a bit skeptical at first since the magazine rated it so highly, especially for the price. Hearing and listening is so subjective but I knew what I wanted my in ears to sound like, no too clinical and sanitized but rather dynamic and lively. From the moment I played he first song it blew me away! Skeptic no more. What hifi stated that these sonys can handle anything you throw at them and they were right. Super tight bass and clear open mids and highs. I like to listen to my music extremely loud and for the first time ever I've found headphones that forces me to turn down the volume on some songs. Some reviews I've read says the bass is not that strong, well to my ears they are awesome on my hip hop and dance tunes. I've had these for about three weeks now and even though they aren't even burned in yet they still sound amazing. These are worth trying out if you want an upgrade from stock mp3 ear buds that come with an ipod etc. I did critical listening using my headphone out from my behringer mixer, headphone out from a technics home theatre reciever, an ipod shuffle and nano, my studio software output from my desktop. They all sounded incredible. Then I decided to pair theses earbuds to a fiio 6 portable headphone amp, the sony earbuds sound went to a whole new level! I cannot even begin to tell you how much better a great product to begin with sounded even more incredible. Lastly I upgraded the ear tips to the comply t200 isolation tips and sound leakage and isolation was even better. These sony paired with my fiio e6 and the comply tips takes my modest mobile music enjoyment well past my expectations given my whole set up cost less than $120. But even if it cost double that it would still be an unbelievable deal. An ipod shuffle, fiio e6 has changed the way I think about music on the go forever, working out at my gym has never been more inspiring. The sony is incredible, paired with the fiio e6, they are absolutely awe inspiring. And for about $70 for the sony, $30 for the fiio, $15 for the comply t200 tips Id give 6 or 7 star rating if I could. I love my sennheiser momentum over ear headphones but I really love my sony ex650. The icing on the cake is the brass finish is beautiful, I have the gray/black ones and I'll be buying the gold brass ones soon.

I purchased these for $66 to replace my Sennheiser cx500 earbuds, and I'm extremely happy with the purchase. The sound quality is on a totally different level compared to my old earbuds. The low end is powerful, punchy, and smooth. I've never heard such powerful yet clear bass with earbuds before. With some songs, it feels like my brain is vibrating from the bass. The mids and highs are crisp and clear. These headphones can get very loud, and at high volumes, they can be a little harsh and sibilant. But at low to medium volumes, these headphones are fantastic. The sound is clear and open with good separation of the instruments, so I don't feel the need to crank up the volume like with my other headphones. In the long run, this will save my hearing.The build quality is also impressive. The cable feels soft, smooth, light, and flexible yet durable at the same time. The brass material on the earbuds and the jack also adds a very nice touch. The silicone earbud tips are comfortable and form a perfect seal for my ears. In addition, the angled shape of the earbuds allows the tips to fit very deep into my ear canals. These earbuds stay in place and keep their seal whether I'm exercising or even yawning. My old earbuds would wiggle loose frequently, but these sony headphones really stay put.If you're looking for affordable, high quality headphones, I would definitely recommend these. Skip the $20-$40 budget earbuds and just buy these instead, else you'll be missing out on superior sound and build quality.

Want incredible sound on most types of music without spending stupid amounts of money? These might be your earphones. I went to several mega-electronics shops in Japan and tried set after set of earphones and I kept coming back to these. For the price they are simply incredible.

I bought these to replace my Monster iSport in-ear running headphones which had 1 earbud crap out in connection, as well as to use for everyday walking and work use. Six months later and I still love these headphones. I'm not an audiophile, but for me they sound great with good bass. They are much more comfortable than the Monster headphones and haven't degraded in quality (that I can tell) since purchase. Would recommend for a good pair of everyday / light running headphones. I also like the little snap bag that they come in, very handy for transporting in my work bag or pocket.

Very good product for the price. Well balanced, even, open, musical sound stage. You will have to pay much more to get the same quality and sound from other brands. Don't get me wrong, I have other brands, bought elsewhere (after purchasing this) that's exceptional, for much less. However, this is very good from this site.
