Forged metal parts break over time.
These are nice, but Ive had a few break over time and it isn't the plastic parts that are failing, it's the forged metal parts that break off or crack. For such an expensive item, you would think is would be of a better material.

Bought two for our Ranger 33 to replace 47 year old Perko latch sets.

Exactly what we needed; replacing same one that is 35 years old on a boat.
Husband installed it without difficulty. Even works backwards. Original one was installed backwards but the door still stays closed when it is supposed to and opens easily. It is not symmetrical so it had to be installed the same way in order to use the same cuttings in the door and the frame.
