Packed with good probiotics but taste isn't the best
Natto is a Japanese dish that is packed with good probiotics and a super healthy food. It is very easy to prepare where only water is needed. Consistency is a bit sticky and the beans are small (not kidney bean size). Taste though is pretty bitter which was not for me. A family member ate it and didn't mind, helped their bowel movements.

Yep. That's natto
I really don't care for natto, but it's a good source of protein and I'm trying to get in more probiotics, so I decided to give this a try.If you don't like natto, this isn't going to do much to change your mind. Rehydrated as per the directions on the package, it doesn't exactly taste like fresh natto, but it isn't exactly pleasant, either. If you do like natto, you'll probably be disappointed by the subdued flavor and lack of texture. I'd recommend leaving it dried, and using it as a topping for a salad.

Take it in capsules you can get on Amazon.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:It tastes awful. It is better to take it in capsules. It is supposed to be healthy.

Tastes real
Yep, it tastes real, it is the Real thing 😃 and I'm so glad for that, after spending money in vain on 'Natokinase' pills that tasted just simple rice powder 😑

Mild smell. Very soft texture.
I make natto at home, but I have been wanting to try freeze-dried natto, and now I have! Here is my review:Amount: The amount in the directions is very little. I used 4 teaspoons (20g), which was the perfect size for me.*Appearance: It looks like regular natto: light brown and slightly shiny.*Smell: It has a very mild compared to regular natto. Somewhat nutty scent.*Texture: Unlike regular natto, it is very soft and very easily smushed with my tongue. It has a nice, stretchy, slimy texture, and I can tell that the natto bacteria is alive and well.*Taste: It has a slightly nutty and bitter taste, just like regular soybeans.I added about 1/2 teaspoon of dashi stock and 1/8 teaspoon of soy sauce and mixed it. Then, I topped it with chopped green onions and homemade salmon flakes. It was decent natto.I also used it for natto making. I put about 15 dried natto beans in the roasted steamed soybeans, hoping it would make perfect natto. However, there was very little stickiness; the natto bacteria didn’t multiply well. Next time, I will try using rehydrated natto and see it works well.

Prepared As Directed, Smelled & Tasted Horrible, Unfortunate Experience For Me
I was looking forward to trying these, since I do like soy beans and I've never had Natto before.I prepared it exactly as instructed, left it covered in my refrigerator for 2.5 hours until tender. I stirred it around when I took it out and it had the consistency of thick stew gravy.I enthusiastically took a bite and immediately wanted to spit it out, but I soldiered on to finish chewing and swallowing it. I really wanted to like it! But between the consistency and the horrific taste, I couldn't take a second bite. It smelled awful too.I don't quite understand what happened here. The expiration date is over 18 months away, so it wasn't anywhere near expired. I don't know if I got a bad batch or if this is something that people need to develop a taste for, like cigarettes or liverwurst?Either way, this was gaggingly awful for me -- and I have a very strong stomach for anything that's not spicy -- which was a huge disappointment.I was going to give it 3 stars, but then my husband walked in and said, "UGH What is that horrible smell?!" At that point I knew it wasn't just me, so I tossed it on some weeds outside and decided it would have to be 2 stars.Hopefully mine was just a bad batch, and this will be enjoyable to others.
