my purchase from from buy it now fits my kitchenaid 12 cup food processor
my purchase from from buy it now fits my kitchenaid 12 cup food processor. i was hesitant to purchase like others here thinking that it wouldn't fit but the part from buy-it-now does fit. works great. they responded quickly to an email request prior to purchase, and it was shipped quickly too. very happy with the purchase and saved having to buy a new food processor b/c my previous blade got stuck. all i did was use a hammer and chisel to remove the old blade, and then purchased a new blade from buy-it-now.

Works well for replacement, but BEWARE that you need the CORRECT model numbers before purchasing
Somehow, I forgot I'd used the KitchenAid and left the blade on with food on it. It got really nasty after a week or so and I chucked it. Replaced it with this blade.-2 points for the INCREDIBLY COMPLEX process I had to go through to make sure this was the correct blade for my unit. Apparently there was a design change, based on model number, but it's not clear what the number was plus my unit was a refurb so the sticker was on top of the original part number and it require a call to (and call back from) KitchenAid tech support before I finally got my answer.Turns out this was the right blade, but...jeepers, what a nightmare!

It does fit, if....
I needed to replace the blade and the 12 cup container, the lid was fine. I received the blade first and set it into my old container and as everyone has said it doesn't sit right. Then a few days later the container came and I put the blade into this one and it fits perfectly, like it was made for it..weird I know. Anyways if you want to keep your machine but need a new blade (or container) then you should probably buy both at the same time.My four star rating is for the quality of the product itself not the idea that you have to buy both components in order for it to work correctly. Thanks KitchenAid you're the best!

Doesn't work even when replacing shaft sleeve
So KitchenAid has clearly revamped their design. This blade doesn't fit on my processor (purchased in 2007). The reason is that the notches on the inside of this are at a different level than the notches in my old blade, so the shaft sleeve catches on it before it is touching the bottom of the bowl. I would need to chisel out some of the plastic for it to fit.Someone suggested I buy a new shaft sleeve, so I did, but there are 2 problems with that:1) The model they sent me is still the old model, exactly like the one that is already on it, so it doesn't solve my problem at all and2) If I replace the shaft sleeve to fit this design, then none of my other parts (dough blade, discs, etc) will fit anymore.REALLY frustrated with KitchenAid right now. You can't charge a billion dollars for your products on the premise that they last forever, then discontinue parts.

Works fine, but may require additional part
I have the KFP750. When my original blade broke processing hard cheese, the remaining blade plastic housing was stuck on the machine inside the large bowl. No amount of pulling, hot water, hairblowing the plastic, etc could get it off. Finally with a nail puller (90 degree angle of steel for removing nails from wood) that could fit in the bowl with the edge under the plastic blade housing, I was able to pry the plastic blade housing off, the metal axle of the food processor motor was now exposed. When I received the new blade (Whirlpool/KitchenAid part # 8212014 from Amazon vender Seneca River Trading), I realized I needed another part (Whirlpool/KitchenAid part # 8211849 Motor Shaft Sleeve) to put on the exposed metal axle of the food processor motor, which the new blade then fit over perfectly. I then examined the old blade housing, and realized when I removed the blade, I actually removed both the blade and the motor shaft sleeve jammed tightly into it. I then looked at all the other blades that came with my KFP750, and realized they also require the motor shaft sleeve to be in place, they do not fit on the exposed metal axle without the motor shaft sleeve in place. I believe the majority of the bad/confused reviews for this blade are because when people pry off the blade housing, the motor shaft sleeve is jammed inside, and the reviewers expect the new blade to replace the "single" part they removed, when in fact they removed two parts, and need to replace two parts. My KFP is Model # KFP750OB1, Serial # WHW3358806.

I love my Kitchen Aid food processor
This blade is wonderful. I replaced my old one after 10 years. I lasted so long with heavy use. By comparison the old blade was much more dull but I never noticed it while using it. I only replaced it because it was kind of cruddy and I never sharpened it.In my opinion the design could be better in that on the underside it is quite deep and hard to clean without a tiny straw brush. Also, overtime the white will stain. Otherwise this is an excellent long lasting blade. With care (better care than I gave my old one) it could last the life of your food processor.

Just wanted to chime in on this issue about this ...
Just wanted to chime in on this issue about this blade. I spoke with Kitchen Aid. There are two big blades made for this model it depends on the serial number of your processor for the blade that will fit. So my serial # WHT2002639 Model KFPW760 needs blade part # 8212014G cost 34.99 from Kitchen Aid. After I recieve it I will update if it works.

2nd time the charm
I had to order twice, the second time from Buy-It-Now-Store, and received the blade fitting my KFP750OB1. They are an Amazon marketplace vendor but have their own website which lists the model numbers for this blade.I previously ordered from Small Appliance but received the newer blade (with the pinched top) inside a box picturing this blade. Am still trying to resolve the Amz return. 3 week Update: Small Appliances has not authorized return despite my sending them a picture showing the item and mislabeled box.
