Rabbit Wine Aerator Shower Funnel with Sediment Strainer, in Stainless Steel, is an excellent wine tool. We keep several so we can decant multiple bottles simultaneously. The level of sediment removal is excellent, as the filter is very fine. It fits great with many decanters. We like to use it with the Eto Decanter. With the Rabbit, it aerates the wine, which helps big reds to open up nicely. Moreover, for older wines, the sediment removal helps significantly. My wife says she experiences no headaches now with the sediment removal when drinking red wine. It is easy to clean and very easy to use. At $20 on sale currently, we bought several. And they make excellent gifts.

...good looks don't trump functionality.We appreciate the double stainless steel design of the Rabbit that allows us to remove the strainer. BUT, the strainer itself can't be removed from its housing for proper cleaning. Furthermore, the strainer is way too small for decanting 25 - 40 year old reds because the sediment clogs the strainer almost immediately on pouring.Because we double decant our cellar older reds, this aerator is only good for the second decanting once most of the sediment has been removed by our simple, 3.5" stainless aerator with removable strainer, too. This larger strainer, called the True Fountain Strainer, is available on Amazon in its Amazon TRUE store.With the True Fountain aerator/strainer, we're not growing old while waiting to remove the sediment in the first decanting. And no, we have no relationship with True other than we own this particular larger aerator/strainer. There are similar larger stainless aerator/strainers like the Norpro with its nifty handle/holder, but we like the True aerator because its bottom aerator design is the same as the Rabbit's.We bought the Rabbit aerator at a deep discount during one Amazon's deal days and we'll keep it for the second decanting and our newer reds. However, if you have a cellar of reds that have been happily aging for more than 25 years, then you'll need a larger aerator/strainer like the True Fountain Aerator for the initial decanting of the wine in a reasonable amount of time.

A little pricey but an excellent, high quality filter/funnel. It's nice that the filter separates from the funnel. I say pricey but what about that $50+ bottle of wine you're pouring?
