Good buy
A handle would have been nice, but this a really solid, well lit and buttoned radio. It's heavier than I expected, (which is good). Rubber feet hold it tight to smooth surfaces. am/fm coverage is better than an average inexpensive radio. The fm sound is above average.

poor reception
I get few radio stations, and poor reception. The antenna broke right away.

Solid radio with great reception. AC or DC power.
I like the fact that it has an RDS display as well as and AUX input(and headphone out). Not sure what all the griping about sound quality is on some of the other reviews. It sounds pretty smooth to me as compared to a lot of other table radios and boom boxes. It's solidly built and has a very sturdy chrome antenna that isn't like those cheap "wire" things you get on most other radios. I'd buy it again.

great radio
This is my second PR-D5. Sangean has the best reception circuits in the business. Pulls in weak stations. Sound is OK, could use a bit more base. Other than the base issue, this is the best small radio I have purchased. Like I said, I purchased a second one.

Lousy Is Manifest in the AM Radio world.
a.) The whole experience. b.) What a disappointment.

It is not very shock resistant.
I put this on my zero turn in a padded box with ANC headset. It now changes stations randomly. This is the second one I have purchased and the first is also malfunctioning requiring several pushes on the on button to get it turned on or off. It does have decent reception but the quality of button functions leaves a lot to be desired.

Good radio
We had a Sangean internet radio previously and it took so much effort to reprogram it everytime it decided to go down. So frustrating! I thought I'd try to use this regular broadcast AM/FM Sangean and I love it. True, I don't get any internet stations on it, but I can live with that. When I want internet radio, I can use my computer. It never goes down and is so much easier.

Could be better
Love the styling and it did pull in a SF station I could never get .What I don’t like is that it has no tone control and 2 dinky speakers encased in plastic which gives it a muffled sound.Come on, even the cheapest radio has tone control.
