I purchased the dozeology brand weighted blanket, and a friend (let’s call her B) bought a more expensive brand. This review is written as a comparison between the two.We both enjoy the side effects of ADD, moderate anxiety, and a recently developed dependency on OTC sleep aids. It is difficult to fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up. After candlelight yoga, meditation, therapy, and hypnosis we figured what’s the harm in trying one more “gimmick.” Well, to all weighted blankets I sincerely apologize for calling you a gimmick.Initial concerns:Will this be too hot (I overheat in a heartbeat with regular comforters) - will it be too heavy - will it smell like plastic - will I feel trapped!? Nope to all of the above - it's like being hugged by a temperature controlled angel (or whatever higher power you believe in - or if you don’t believe in anything then it is like being hugged by a temperature controlled blanket). After one night I knew I would be ordering a second to leave at my significant other's house because I would never sleep without it again.First night:This blanket quieted my nightly racing thoughts - I wanted to stay awake and figure out how - but the next thing I knew it was 6:15 am. Did I fall asleep before deciding which episode of The Office to watch? Did I stay asleep all night!? Yes and yes! In fact, it has been 10 days, and I have yet to overheat, feel trapped, or wake up before the morning alarm. I no longer use a TV to help me fall asleep. For the first time in years, I look forward to falling asleep. I get into bed, click off the light, drift off, and wake up feeling rested.Packaging:15 lbs is heavy, and my upper body strength is nothing to write home about. I was worried about carrying it from the shipping address to my house. However, dozeology is brilliant, and it comes in a sturdy easy to carry box with a sturdy handle that never faltered. The box was easier to carry than trader joe's grocery bags!B's came in a bulky box,, and the blanket was only protected by a light plastic bag - she struggled the entire walk home and had to stop multiple times to readjust her grip.Weight distribution/comfort:We agree the blanket is precisely what our nighttime ritual was missing. Both blankets help ease racing thoughts and promote healthy sleep habits.I cannot emphasize the importance of temperature control. There is nothing worse than being hot and miserable in bed. I still cannot wrap my mind around how I stay at a comfortable temperature under a 15 lb blanket - but I do.B has complained of overheating and a slight odor. I have not experienced either of these issues with the doze blanket.Quality:Ooh la la. The blanket comes “pre-assembled," it is secured in a lovely light blue duvet. My bedding is Peacock Alley, and this high-quality duvet cover fits in perfectly with the other linens. The blanket does not slide around on the inside of the cover. When you are making the bed, and you pull on the cover the entire blanket moves - I greatly appreciate this attention to detail.B’s blanket did not come with a cover - she complains that it slides around on the bed and does not stay put through the night. She purchased a duvet but still complains that it slides around in the duvet because there are no options for attachment.Both blankets have the weight distributed evenly throughout and provide a comforting element - but that is about as far as the similarities go.Would I recommend this:Yes and I have. My mother, roommates, and friends have all purchased the blanket. I have only received one complaint - a friend wanted a red duvet option - which seems like an aggressive bedding choice for someone with anxiety - but to each their own.I purchased this blanket because I wanted to lessen dependency on prescriptions and OTC sleep aids and train my body to fall asleep naturally. Mission Accomplished!

I purchased this for I have been struggling with sleep issues for a long time now. I’ve tried different medications but nothing has really been helpful. I did a lot of research and read a lot about weighted blankets, to be honest I was extremely skeptical about Dozeology’s weighted blanket because they are new to the market but I liked that they offered their weighted blanket along with a removable cover in a package already and it looked to me like a high quality product so I took a leap of faith and invested in it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It didn’t solve my sleeping issues right away, but after a few nights of sleeping with it, I started sleeping so much better! It made a huge difference! It is definitely one of my best purchases ever on Amazon.

I initially thought the blanket duvet had a stain on it. I discovered an identical stain on my pillow the next day. Consequently; the stain must be my fault and not the company. Because I made this error I feel compelled to make a detailed reviewI am a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. I have handled many weighted lap pads, throws, and of course blankets. To purchase one for myself, I took my time reviewing my wants for a weighted blanket:Hug feeling to reduce anxiety severityA weighted blanket without sandy material dripping out making a messA weighted blanket that maintained good form with the pliability and softened needed for sleep. One that doesn’t have pooling of the contents on one side or another.A weighted blanket without synthetics that will make me sweat all nightA weighted blanket that will be worth my hard earned moneyThis blanket compared to others I’ve tried and handled:Comes with a nice, soft duvet. It feels cool on me. I don’t sweat at night with it, despite it being 15 pounds.Inner martial is diamond shaped with smaller channels. About 3x3” in size I’d guess. This is small enough to maintain form and even distribution, but allows the pliability I mentioned previously.Because it is made with such excellent design and craftsmanship, I can flip it up and straightened on by bed without additional/excessive effort to straighten and reform it. It is truly in a class I have not seen.Summary:This is the highest quality design and craftsmanship I’ve seen and now use as a therapy professional and as a consumer. I will buy this brand of weighted blanket again when a need arises.

The blanket is extremely well made! The fabric is strong but breathable and soft, and the color compliments my bedroom decor nicely. The weight within the blanket amazingly stays in place, and is just perfect to help me stay asleep through the night. I've slept so soundly since using the blanket! I do wish the blanket came in a larger size. Though the blanket would be even heavier, the ability to snuggle up with it would be easier. Overall a great blanket, and I will be buying more for my children as well!

LOVED it! I slept like a baby after using this blanket. It feels very calming and relaxing.The blanket comes with a cover exactly as described by the seller. The cover can be conveniently tied to the actual blanket, which is great as it doesn’t move or shift. I chose the Sky White color option - it is so pretty and elegant!Very happy with my purchase :)

Bought two of these for Christmas for both college age kids. THEY LOVED THEM! No complaints about comfort or value. Totally worth the price no complaints on that.....Had to wash one covering already, due to pet fur....detaching the weighted blanket from the covering to wash was easy...no problems. GETTING IT BACK ON---STINKS and is super hard, still not right from original factory setting. That is the only downside, it has to be hand detached and hand reattached with knots that one can not do :( I have tried and tried, I still can't stop it from being uneven and sliding to one side. I bought it purposely for the removable covering to wash, way too hard to get on correctly again :(

The blanket itself is just fine, however I really have an issue with the cover. The directions received with the blanket advised to cold water wash the cover, and tumble dry low, which I did. The cover shrank 6 inches in width, and about 4 inches in length. The blanket is now bunched up inside the cover. and it's all lumpy on the bed. It's an absolute hot mess. Wish I had not ordered it.
